Waking up in my hotel room in Burke street this morning I thought I would kill some time with this.
I am in Melbourne for a week.
Yesterday I did the Great Ocean Road tour on a bus and coming back we went via Colac. As the guy said on the mic that we were going to stop for dinner at Colac I yelled "the home of Luke Hodge".
The bus driver then tried to explain to a bus load of Americans,Poms and a couple from Perth who Hodgey was.
The bloke who I later found out was a Collingwood fan said "Luke Hodge was the captain of the team that won the AFL Premiership this year" I yelled out " The Back2Back captain" the guy then said "he has been a great player for a long time who plays above his height and weight and has on lots of occasions payed the price for it".
So here I was having a meal in Colac with a bus load of Americans and Poms and one WA couple when one Pom asked the bus driver " What was Colac's main points of interest" along with me and about 10 other people the group yelled out "the home of Luke Hodge"
Just a little story I thought I would share with all my fellow Hawks that gave me a warm glow about our Hodgey, and the way even a Collingwood fan saw the great man.
