I went along to the Collingwood Town Hall to see the memory of Darren Millane alive and well.
Hosted by Scott Palmer.
With special guests Brian Taylor (who did an impersonation of Oprah Whitney), Dennis Banks, Mick McGuane, Glenn Archer, Anthony Stevens and Shane Moorwood.

Archer and Stevens were mad Collingwood supporters as kids.

Tarrant and Didak also made an appearance.
It was great to see Tarrant enjoying himself. Chris also said he doesn't want to leave the Club.

Isn't that what got him in trouble in the first place? :p

He did this at a Collingwood function, with Collingwood greats, honoring a Collingwood hero???
Gee, I wonder why. Perhaps if he WAS thinking about leaving, he certainly wouldn't have done it in a forum like that...

But apart from my Friday cynicism, it sounded like it would have been a really good time. I heard nothing about it coming up at all, which is strange. Where was it advertised?

Oh, also, I've started reading "Champions", the book where this guy interviews 24 past and present champions, and let me say, over the last few years I've become a fan of Archer as a person (and a lot more respectful and less resentful of him as a player) due to the work he does. He was person number one in this book, and my respect goes up even more for him. The only bummer is that he wasn't asked/didnt talk about Carey....imagine if Arch had come to Collingwood in the mid-90s... *sigh*

It wasn't a Collingwood function.
The Millane Family organsied the luncheon.

Tarrant spoke to a few people, including me. He was sincere when he said it.

It was advertised over at Nicks.
