I think we are a better team with Kenny at FF.

At the end of the day we nearly knocked off the top side today with about 18 fit players.

We were only 7 points away from everyone around here going crazy about how good we are.

You're probably right, but we have some major issues regarding our forward line. We just can't kick the scores to win the big games. Heck, we've barely had enough to kick big scores against the bottom teams.

As soon as gills fit and in a bit of form i think we have to give him a crack up forward for us. We have to try something different imo

No Bode no Burton you take two players of their tiers out from a given forward line it doesn't tend to go well.
Burton is really like a Riewoldt to Adelaide and Bode is very important to keeping the ball from rebounding out as well as Reilly.

Agreed Bode and Burton are very important to us but the fact is we don't have them. We have to make do with out them. We need to try something new. Kenny looked good today, Welsh has been awful for 2 games running and if wasnt for his last quarter against the Blues even longer. He looks soft.

Bock still looks ok at CHF for mine. He is a lead out option. Won't kick many goals but is a good lead up forward a little further down the ground.

Maybe try a Gill. Don't know a lot about his form but couldn't do any worse than Welsh. Jericho also must go and hopefully never return.

The loss of Hentschel this year is the one that is really hurting us.

Gill isn't doing much scoring but is taking marks and I gather being rather influential in goal assistance North just Slaughtered Port Adelaide by 74 I think it was.
Taking marks is more then a few Crow forwards can claim to be doing.

Then why is Buddy Franklin as skinny as a rake, and yet is one of the classiest and best forward going around at the moment. He is young aswell, we need someone exacly like him

Hell ...why didn't the club do that ....could someone plaese phone the club and get them to order a Franklin clone ....

A must for the Crows for the rest of the year is to play Ken McGregor played Full Foward, and make him the key target. He is the ONLY player that can take a contested mark in the Crows forward line. Nathan Bock is good on the lead but cannot take a contested mark.
PLay McGregor forward and give him the whole forward 50 to spread into.
I liked Ken's last quarter today but I don't think he is a good enough player to be played one out in the forward fifty. If he didn't mark it we'd be stuffed. The lack of small crumbing forwards has been a glaring weakness this season.

That guy Rhys Archard crumbing forward I hear he brims with confidence.
We don't have anyone else doing it and the ball just gets spirited away off the deck.
MscGregor can hold his own and get the ball down where it's dangerous but has no support.

You've sold me!
We've tried Douglas in that role but he didn't look all that suited to it. Porplyzia is ok but seems to be more a marking/leading forward anyway. We tried Johncock there today in the second half which might be an option. And with Goodwin out injured we can't afford to send someone like Tyson Edwards down there.

bah the name is GREGOR!!

I was always partial to 'Obi Wan'...

best forward line I can think of from the current team is:

FF: Welsh - Mcgregor - Griffen
CHF: Ricciuto - Bock - (rotating midfielder)

Tell welsh his role is smaller forward/keep it in. Let Obi wan/gryffindor/Roo/Chicken man all rotate lead up roles. I think Welsh is a great forward if he doesn't have to have the best backmen on him. He also 'used' to provide fantastic forward line pressure. Maybe freeing him up from the key defenders will bring that back. I'd persist with him as still been our most damaging forward this year and is still (besides roo probably) our best kick for goal.

And a MUST for Crows at the end of the year. Draft a GOOD TALL, FULL FORWARD PLAYER WHO CAN PLAY FORWARD AND BE A MAIN TARGET UP FORWARD, we have been shit up forward this year
*sniffs emotionally* i thought I was the only one. Seriously though please take note Craigy and those in charge of selection, its pretty obvious. Second paragraph is spot on too, we've been trying for years though!

And what happens, Gill doesn't play, Glenelg get the sniff. And absolutely flog North. Didn't like it all.

Damn my incredibly vague prophecy.

He has performed fairly well since coming back from injury, he has been solid without being spectacular but needs a few more games under his belt first.

Kicking one when your team wallops someone is not overly solid, most every other forward played better.

WE NEED MATTHEW PAVLICH:thumbsu:

crumbles under pressure to kick goals when they are needed:thumbsd:

the crows should play as many young players as possible hopefully finish in the bottm 3 for the next 3 years and get a chance to finally pickup some descent players

Didn't tune in Sunday?

and I thought your first comment was stupid.

Yet Jonathan Brown is some sort of infallible Carey clone who boots 5 and takes 25 contested marks week-in, week-out, right?

Pavlich is the most complete and superior CHF in the caper, bar none.

You must be mistaking us with a Victorian club.

Well, at least look on the brightside.

Under the new proposed system we'll be allowed to give up a handful of first rounders, half the floorspace of Crowmania and 75% of our season ticket income in order to pick up Connor McLeod (there can be only one!) when he comes of age - provided Andrew makes it to 400 games, of course.
