A new start for the AFL

The (surprisingly fair) draw has been described by the afl as 'the beginning of a new start for the AFL'

Unlike my cynical cousin Pessimistic I am hopeful that it will be the signal of a new beginning, and we can return to complaining about trivial things like the tribunal.

I hope the press cut the AFL some slack too ?

Perhaps Demetriou is a good swap for Collins ?

essendon has 2 games on sat afternoon next year
12 night games

and in total there are almost double the sunday games (70) than there are saturday (37)games

from an interstate fans point of view i was quite happy with the amount of night games (esp fridays early on) that we play, as it means we dont get shafted out of tv coverage (to watch dockers port or some other such blockbuster).

i was thinking from the point of view that the grand final is played at night
does playing 12 night games make a difference????
i dont know see what happens
will essendon ever not have to play coll and carl twice in one year???? another example of the afl thinking about money rather than the fairness of the competition. its really not fair for carlton and collingwood is it?

Haven't looked close enough at the fixtures to notice much else. Any WACA games this year?

It's a pity the Dockers don't get their Anzac Day game. They've always done it very tastefully (for once

crowz4eva I think the AFL saw the crowd at the Dockers vs Kangaroos game and thought "never again!"

Interesting - Peter Bell wont be playing on his former home ground next year - wonder what role Drum will use him next year.
