A poll for those of us old enough to remember that rainy night at Waverly against Melbourne in 1981.

With all due respect to Chris not quite as bad for me. Dont get me wrong its tragic enough, but Templeton was only 23 and had just won the Brownlow. In fact it was his first match after winning from memory.

I can't remeber the Templeton game specifically (but I certainly qualify for the over 30s - in fact I've just qualified for the over 40s this month).

But I'd rate them as bad. It's always tragic.

We know that Chris should be back next year. But in 81 it was often the end - and it effectively was for Templeton.

I was only born in that year so i dont think i should vote. But yeah chris will hopefully be back to play at least 300 games for the red white and blue.

Not as bad, but the consequences of Chris's injury could well turn out to be catastrophic for the club.

Templeton's injury was horrific, but we were used to failure - conditioned to accept our lot. Now, after several strong seasons on field, we expect better.

If we miss the finals by one or two games ........

I'm sorry, I just don't even want to think about THAT.

Fair point - that wasn't a real flash few years for us.

Knee injuries 20 years ago were more tragic, since then medical procedures and rehab methods have improved dramatically.
Granty will be back and it is up to the rest of the team to increase their output to compensate.
Wade Skipper and Crofty will have to come into side as soon as they are ready. Maybe even Bowden if he gets serious.

Changes next week.

In POWER, SKIPPER.

Out GRANT BIRSS (Both injured)

To be eased into the side in the next few weeks.
CROFT,GILBEE,MCMAHON,FAULKNER.
If the team is performing well these guys have to fight hard for their spots which is a healthy situation for us.

Templeton's was worse. Two reasons:

1. We were almost a one man team then and he was it. I don't think we are now.

2. Back then I was 9 now I'm, well, um, lets just say over 30 and even though when it comes to the Dogs I am still emotionally 9 years old I can take it better now.
