Boring..

Have Gibbs. We'll take the best young kid we can get with our picks and develop them nicely. That's what we do..

How's Andrew Walker going? Carlton are almost as bad as Collingwood at ruining a talented kid's career...

carlton supporters are funny.....

A) he is not your player yet, have you been told by the club you WILL be taking him? we are talking about trading for carlton's number 1 pick, not Bryce (although the aim for us is Bryce)

B) talking about our choke.... haha, at least we know what the top of the ladder looks like

and

I don't think its so bad we discuss getting a number 1 pick. We have done well with our lower end picks (Stiffy, McGregor etc) but we are rarely in the position of being so low on the ladder, that we get a top end pick.....We can sometimes dream of having it, although i would rather finish 3rd then 16th....

Hypocritical twits!!!!!!

Say one thing.......not going to treat players shabbily in the meat market....loyalty....build from within......so on

Then they "supposedly" go and offer Meesen and Reilly to Carlton who I can guarantee were never going to consider it because their fans would never allow Carlton to trade the first pick away!

forget who the players were.....Reilly and Meesen will be saying (whether the rumour is true or not) ....."we'll that's how much we're wanted"

The AFC just keeps shooting itself in the foot
FFS do you even consider anything before shooting your mouth off?!

Here is a fact for you, John Reid rang in to 5AA this morning and has said that at no stage were Reilly or Meesen offered and he was extremely definitive in saying that they will NOT be traded full stop. They were never offered and they will NOT be offered.

How about taking the writer of the article into account

There is no doubt we are interested in Gibbs and will explore the opportunities but Reilly and Meesen will not be part of any proposals.

Anyway, can you really blame us for seeing a thread with our boy's name on it and coming in to see what the fuss is about?

I can't see anyone on your list that is even in the same league to compare with the above list. Maybe "the great Kouta ( :D :D )" can scrap out another million for a couple of years. Other than Fevola, and the inconcistent/soft Waite, there's no real top tier talent there.

Midfield - Clock stopped
Backline - Clock stopped
Rucks - N/A Do you have a ruckman?
Forward Line - Fevola and errr................... Betts - chuckle, chuckle.

Tell me in what twisted logic does a team choke when every prelim final they they have lost they have gone in as underdogs?!

I thought that we choked in this year's prelim. If you watch the third quarter there are countless skill errors that weren't evident in the first half. Poor kicks and even handballs missing the mark. At that stage we had the game by the scruff of the neck, 22 points up and kicking with the wind. So close we could probably taste it.

Thankyou. At least one Crow fan recognises the truth!

I don't think we choked in last year's prelim though. We were never going to beat West Coast over there and only claimed the minor premiership after the Eagles took their foot off the gas in Round 22.

Yeah, The West Coast Eagles are a bunch of useless hacks so why give them any credit at all.

Last week was all about how we lost the game as apposed to how the West Coast Eagles increased there intensity to win the game. Kicking with the breeze is simply an overrated advantage.

We didn’t choke, we failed but didn’t choke. West Coast Eagles won the game because they have a lot more class around the ball and simply better player than we do.

Truth hurts, doesn't it!

:D :D :D
So what exactly is the truth here?!

Something you percieve, or something that is in fact the truth?!

Truth is we are interested in Gibbs. Are we obsessed about him? No!

Will we sell the farm to get pick 1 in the draft?! No.

Adelaide Officals laughed at the suggestion that we have offered Reilly, Meesen and pick 14. They couldn't believe that someone could be stupid enough to offer that much for Bryce Gibbs.

But hey, if you like to make an ass out of yourself by carrying on like a ****wit go ahead. It cerianly won't be the first time nor the last time ;)

Another wild trivial cookup from Rooch the twat.

I would be very surprised if the AFC were considering trading 3 very good players, assuming pick 14 in the strongest draft ever yields a good player, for 1 player no matter how good Gibbs may be.

bus24, John Reid on 5AA this morning said that what was mentioned in the paper would be a laughable trade for the Crows. He went on to say that Adelaide rate Gibbs VERY VERY highly but there is no way we would trade 3 quality young players for Bryce Gibbs.

We will explore the opportunity but in reality the trade is hihgly unlikely to take place. And people call that obsessed!

Well I disagree. The Eagles are obviously a wonderful team but I don't think they brought their best footy to AAMI Stadium. It was a golden opportunity for us. That third quarter will haunt us for a long time.

We played to our best in the first half and only dropped of a little bit, the West Coast Eagles had plenty in the tank and after half time put it into a different gear that we could not match.

With Mark Ricciuto, Rhett Biglands (Mathew Clarke wouldn’t have been so spent) and Trent Hentschel available we could have matched that next level but the player we had available on the day were basically playing at the top there game and didn’t have another gear to match the West Coast Eagles.

We didn’t have anything left, they had plenty.

Rucci came off very poorly on the radio this morning. After Reidy was on he barely spoke a word for the next half hour or so.

Rooch had apparently spoken to Triggy yesterday about the possibility of dealing with Carlton for their number 1 pick. The sticking point came down to whether or not he had mentioned Reilly and Meesen to Trigg or not. Initially Rucci was 100% certain he had mentioned the players' names. Reid disagreed and said that Triggy had never been asked specifically about those players.

Then Rucci said that he was almost certain that he had mentioned the players' names. Then he was pretty sure that he had. Then he said "why wouldn't I have mentioned them?"

I think we know the answer to that. If he had asked Triggy if Reilly and Meesen had been offered as trades and it was refuted then there goes his article. Best to leave some questions unasked. You might get an answer you don't want.

He backtracked 100 miles an hour.

Reidy was very definitive in his answers but Rucci was lost for words. Reilly and Meesen with pick 14 have been mentioned on this board a couple of months ago when Meesen was still to sign, so we all know where he got this supposed inside info from

Its also funny how he knows the name of players that Adelaide has supposedly offered up for trade, but its "unnamed" player that Port is offering. If he got this infro from inside Carlton as he claims then why would they tell him the name of the Crows players but not the name of Port players.

He really can be quite laughable at times.

You do realise you are asking the impossible, right?

We need to give him some kind of hope; after all he does support Carlton.

Considering the last three on the list spent a fair period injured this year, perhaps we have already started to cover that eventuality.

Jesus, surely even James "Amateur Hour" Fantassia wouldn't do that trade.

In which case this quote is both negative and wrong.

Rucci embarrassed himself on 5AA this morning.

The debacle on the names as you mentioned. Play the tapes back Rooch, and see if you even believe yourself after that pathetic back-tracking performance.

His source. An unnamed Carlton person. No reference as to whether it was an official of the club, or Barb, Carlton's female answer to the great unwashed Joffa.

No knowledge of the details of the Port offer. IF there was any truth to Rucci's story, his Carlton source could have named who the Port players were who were offered.

We could suggest to Rucci that it was Salopek and DeLuca as that is the BF version of the Port offer, just as Reilly and Meesen were part of the BF version of the Crows offer.

Rucci came away with the last 1% of his credibility in tatters today. :D

Thought it was a poor effort from Reidy to get the name of the Carlton official who is talking. So are we to believe that Adelaide hasn't offered any players to the Blues for No. 1? Come on!

Pick 14 and Reilly and we have a deal.

surely its better to try a deal like this in 2 years after we see just how good gibbs really is at afl level.
