What was everyone's favourite moment this year when North played? Mine was when everybody wrote off the club when Carey walked out and we made the finals. Go North in 2003!!!

Byron Pickett going berserk against Footscray in Rd 2. We were several goals down in the first half, only Byron had kept us within even that margin... the whole time I'm thinking "we'll win this". Byron didn't kick as many in the second half, but the whole team lifted for a fantastic win.

Hearing of the rd1 game from others who had foxtel (it wasnt on tv:mad:) and later seeing bits of the song that the boys sung that night with such gusto.. and seeing the picture of Archer and Stevo being carried off (on that night) become used so often

Mick Martyn pulling off the #30 jumper at the end of the game against Richmond, holding it close then kissing it and waving it in the air, in honor of his father who died the sunday of the w/e that followed the roos v richmond friday night match

Mick Martyn kicking a goal against Essendon; Jason McCartney sealing the match against Essendon

Watching Stevo go about his work and wondering how a bloke who had been through so much in the past 3 years as Stevo had could go on.. and still believe in people and work hard and aim for success of himself and his teammates and be such an inspiration and give out so much love.. and then smiling and thinking that that was Stevo, that is Stevo, and thinking that thats y I admire him so much and thats what makes him such a champion

Watching Petrie in the snrs

Jason McCartneys winning goal against Essendon

The Bulldogs Game Round 2

The Port game round 1

The Port game round 16

Making the finals

Seniors - Round 1 was amazing. Was genuinly emotional after that.
The look on Jason McCartney's face when he kicked the sealer against Essendon was a top moment also.
But our round 21 win over Hawthorn probably takes it.

MKs - Seeing Petrie and Junior put on an absolute clinic at Optus Oval against Carlton's reserves (rnd 20 i think) was my most enjoyable day at the footy, seniors included, all year.

Yeah two games I thought we were in trouble..V Port at Optus when we gutsed out a fantastic win, and V Hawks when it looked like they could overrun us and we showed them how much more we wanted it. The next day North were flavour of the month with so many non-roos supporters saying how great we were and how courageous the win was.
I think that win v hawks turned around public perception - after being successful and powerful for so long in the 90's the football world was happy to see us struggle for awhile. After the win they appreciated our fighting qualities and what a huge effort it had been to make the finals.

3 things stand out for me:

In this order:

1. Round 21 against Hawthorn
2. Port game at Optus
3. A win against Essendon (after that final in 2000, I said to myself that I would never be satisfied as a supporter, until we beat them again, but after round 1 2001 it looked like it was still years away).

Definently when we won round 2 and the players left the ground arm in arm all as one, I still love the picture of that from the herald sun which was printed with "All for one, Won for all" it was excellent and who cant say round one as well.

I love this club

p.s can you feeeeel the love tonight........... oohhhh waaa la la lalalalala

Best moment of a game I was at- Rnd 2 the boys arm in arm at the end of the game after choppy put on a clinic in the 1st half.

Game I wasn't at- Rnd 1, never been more emotional sitting there watching the boys play on TV

The 3 defining moments for me this year were:

1. Game 1 against the Power, where we stuck right up them, and showed the football world that the Kangaroos are not a one man team, and there is life after Carey. It was the day when Anthony Stevens and Glenn Archer went from being club champions to living legends.

2. Later in the season when we played Power again and beat them at a windy Optus Oval. True grit and a clever game plan against a hot opposition got us over the line. It put the seed of doubt into the minds of Power players that no matter what they throw at us, they just cant beat us.

3. Round 21 when we fought back from 20 odd points down to win running away from a hungry and in form Hawks team. Archer went down, Stevo was out injured, Harvey out on the field with one arm, and the team out on the paddock was full of kids. And what a job those kids did for the jumper. It was the day Mark Porter arrived for the North Supporters, his tackle on Crawford after running quicker than a rabbit being chased by a ferret was outstanding and shows the heart of the guy. The likes of Teague, Sinclair, Harding, Makepeace and the list goes on, give the North Supporters and the incoming coach who ever that might be, hope for the future.

The above moments are the 3 defining moments for me in a memorable season. Lets all make sure we buy our memberships next year and support the club.
