Doesn't take much to get all the slacktivists hammering on their keyboards.

Well played Swann.

I'm with you there. Keyboard warriors are generally very contradicting. I personally do a lot of activism for animal/human rights and base my opinion of the idea on that, but the fact is it was just an idea. It's not like Swann came out and said 'bitches make way for the Lion'.

On that note its great to see people are paying attention to us and our actions and relevance is climbing!

ABC grandstand breakfast spent 10mins speaking about the club on and off field and the brisbane sport market this morning. The real lion was the lead in piece. Apart from the social media outrage, slacktivist petitions it seems as a media stategy it is generating discussion and anaysis of real issues.

Podcast usually uploaded to website later in the day for those wanting to listen.

Each to their own, but I see the petitions as an almost uniformly good thing. From my perspective, any social participation is better than none, and they solve the major issue of connecting an organising disparate groups with similar concerns. It's not like the petitions are realistically stopping anyone who would otherwise have participated in a more time or money consuming way. I'm not sure it's the case that someone's views have no weight because they're uncomfortable at a rally. Same probably applies in the case of laziness, though I agree it devalues the thing a bit.

Still, I agree that second lions position took Swann out of context. There just seems no point to me in knocking slacktivists (same kind of insult as 'too PC' IMO) about what I think are often pretty reasonable concerns.

Another case of Eddie getting his own way. The amount of animals I've seen at Collingwood games over the years and we can't even have a Lion in a cage parading around the ground as pre game entertainment? It's an outrage I tell you.
Yes.but they have no teeth to bite anyone.
