I'd prefer a reverse cowgirl with Jeannie Pratt than having to put up with this kind of True Believer shit ever five minutes.

Sacking a coach after 3 games after just resigning him? Then the committee should go as well, I guess? If that is best for the Pies, then let's go for it. Who do you recommend we replace Buckley with? If you have a plan for his demise, you surely have a plan for our future."I trust his ability to coach us to success"... based on what? The fact he has your favourite footballer at Collingwood?
We are supports of Collingwood the club, not Buckley the messiah. If sacking Buckley is the best thing for the club then why shouldn't supporters ask for that?
Buckley is already an "average coach", we've had 5 years to work this out.. it's not still something that's up in the air.
You have some strange fantasies, but each to their own. Have noted that Bucks may not be the answer or a great coach, but being a supporter is part of being a True Pie!I'd prefer a reverse cowgirl with Jeannie Pratt than having to put up with this kind of True Believer shit ever five minutes.

To be honest Dave I don't even want to contemplate what will happen if we get smashed!
Personally I am giving Bucks four more weeks.
Last year I was on the fence.........I hope I don't fall over to the wrong side.
If nothing else, I guess we will get to see if Eddie is true to his word.....but knowing Bucks, he would probably fall on his sword, rather than be walked off the premises. You never know, I hear James Hird is looking for something to do. Lol. Especially since he an Tania are looking at "future opportunities"....
Don't know where the idea of "can't discuss" comes into it......I thought that was what we were doing now? There is nothing more moronic on a discussion board than posters who say you can't discuss.
Mods should hand out perma bans to anyone trying to stifle freedom of speech
As I have Posted I am giving Bucks next 5 Games to Save The Season or Else
Or else what?

That is an excellent post/contribution - thank you.I'm a supporter. Of the club. And this week, when I finally had some cash, I was able to buy my membership knowing this was probably going to be a shit awful season when I did it. And I go around with my Dad's Collingwood scarf whether we win or get flogged, partly because being a Collingwood supporter is the only part of him I have left.
But I am not a blind advocate of any one individual. For that you are welcome to go join Essendon and get your free James Hird T-Shirt on entry. And if it is time to move Nathan Buckley on, I doubt anyone can say he wasn't given a serious chance to make it work, and if he is let go, it will be because it will have demonstrably failed in ways that would have seen any other coach gone years ago. That is what annoys me I guess about this kind of stuff. I have frankly given him a year and a bit more before asking serious questions than I would have but for the fact this is Collingwood and he is Nathan Buckley. And I doubt I am alone. Time will tell if we, as supporters, and as a club, have been well served by such loyalty.

I imagined such an evil laugh hereCunning plan. The mods will have to ban you for saying that you can't say 'you can't discuss'. Then they'll have to ban themselves for banning you for saying something. Then without mods we may get true freedom of speech. Muuuhuuuhaaahaaa.
Presti was ordinary early in his career and then became a gun. Leon Davis was ordinary early in his career and then became a gun. Dane Swan was ordinary early and has become a Collingwood great. The same can occur with coaches. The point i'm making is that future success may not mean that Bucks has been a good coach up until now. I feel comfortable with a negative assessment of Buckley's coaching up until now. I hope that in the future I'll feel comfortable with a positive assessment of Bucks's coaching. There were enough positive signs last year for me to see potential, but I can't comprehend how people at this point can be "Buckley Disciples".
To me this thread basically seems like an irrational rant about other people having irrational rants. I don't really see it's purpose other than to call a whole bunch of people backstabbers for not supporting the coach which I don't think is justified anyway seeing as he's been in that role since 2012.No issues with opinions with relevant and logical views Jmac70....it's more the irrational rants that say that Buckley has been crap from Day 1, that Malthouse was the Messiah etc etc. As I have said...the jury is still out on whether Nathan can coach or not, but not giving him the chance to prove it, probably doesn't help the club itself.
Judging by the reception to this thread I'd guess it's more like 2/3Don't know where it said "1/2 the board are backstabbers".....just a few, but that is enough.

bit hard to be there next week if have given him 5 weeks to go, or the big else whatBucks be seen at Centerlink the next week
I agree with your sentiments entirely
Buckley was one of my favourite all-time Pies. Despite my man love for Buck's I have never agreed with the succession plan. It is obvious when the plan was implemented that the Board did not expect success within the 3 year period and when it occurred they were backed into the corner. Furthermore, it was never going to work because Malthouse was never on board.
I believe that anyone with coaching aspirations need to go to different clubs as part of their apprenticeship and gain a different perspective before taking on a Senior gig. Weideman, Shaw and Buckley did not leave the club. Just because players were great footballers does not guarantee coaching success. Just look at Hird, Voss, Watson and Shaw in recent history.
Despite my reservations about Buckley's ability to coach and communicate a game plan, I want him to succeed. For him to succeed I believe that he needs to change the assistant coaching panel. We don't have a Rhodes Scholar amongst them and our coaching panel for the past 3 years have lacked a cohesive game plan and this year despite promise in the NAB cup, again appear to have problems implementing and conveying a sustainable game plan. None of our assistant's have coached in their own right.
For example Scott Watters was credited with devising Collingwood's defensive zone in 2010 and forward zone pressure in 2011. Unfortunately Watters could not translate this into senior coaching success.
Leigh Tudor has been involved with four clubs in the past 10 years. Geelong rated Tudor extremely high. In 2006-07 he was the Geelong VFL coach Runners-up in 2006 and Premiers 2007 and defensive coach (AFL premiers), in 2010, he was St Kilda's midfield coach (runners-up). In 2011 and 2012 he was Sydney's midfield coach (Premiers in 2012) and he is now North Melbourne. In 2014 he was their defensive coach and was acclaimed for tightening their defence (from 88 points conceded per game to 79 points per game). In 2015 he was the Roos mid-field coach and this year he is their forward coach.
You gave some examples of players taking time to find their feet. Here's some coaching examples
Malthouse in his first 5 years at the club had a win rate of 50% (despite making 2 GF's)
Ratten was deemed a failure in his 5 year reign despite having a success rate of 50% (despite having a crap playing list)
Clarkson in his first 5 years had a win rate of 49% despite winning a GF
