I hear that Jenke who used to play at OH wants to play A Grade next year. Tipping OX's would be all over that

word on the Southern Football League forum is that there are a handful of Old Xav's players moving across to Tooronga Malvern FC in Southern Div 1...
Anyone heard of this and is there any truth to it?
Cheers,

Doherty a big loss. Where is James Byrne off to? Surely not just one year of service....
how is the new coach up at Eagle Land travelling "GO U EAGS" ?

from what i hear from the boys he has fitted in very well and is conducting a solid pre season.... look out for a much improved eagles outfit in twenty ten

I'm sure they will have a great year in 2011 in B grade where they belong, under there new coach
On the eve of clubs re-commencing their quest for glory in 2010, I think it is important to take stock each club's new players and those they have lost.
Apparently the fallout from Scotch has continued with a few players joining the Lions for the coming year. No doubt pleased with the coach and board again... Who would want to play at Scotch anyway??? Get them a job and they'll nick off after one season!! Surely they are better supporting the youth. It would be hard to re-train a stubborn administration.
I know down at the Tonners, they are hopeful of achieving glory this year after a disappointing 2009 season. They have lost only a few players (Spriggs, Sargeant) and picked up a few guns from the local league, plus the incoming coach has brought a few players with him from the Eastern Football League. Perrett working interstate until mid-May will hurt early but they should recover well. Should be hard to beat with Gerta firing.
St Bedes have lost Groves to an assistant coaching role at the Sandy Dragons. McGettigan and Phibbs overseas for 2010. Have picked up former vice captain of Frankston VFL. Always hard to beat, especially at Brindisi Street. But with an aging list, they may come back to the field.
Marcellin need to recruit many...haven't, and have lost a few as reported on this website.
Xavs will no doubt find someone who knows someone's cousin's friend who happens to be an absolute gun, and has a friend who is even better. And both will swear their undying love for the club for many years. Will need to replace their stocks after the list of retirees last year including Fleming, Clarke, Lynch, Ruyg. Have heard Bowen is off overseas chasing a woman with whom he went to primary school with. But they have picked up former player Biddlecombe from Sandringham VFL who will no doubt be a handy replacement for the pin-up boy of the club.
OM's and Trinity??
Uni will need to replace gun goalkicker George DeCrespaghetti.
Anyone else with some news to get this forum kicking again???
Sounds as if they are doing the same as last year, what are they doing different from the previous year?
OB have also lost Ainley, Matt Smith and Gadsen. think they could be in some trouble. Couple of others still undecided aswell.... sinclair and oliver just to name a few.
OS have lost a few good players, but one player set for a big year is Matthew Parisi.
Showed glimpses of his potential in 2007 with his run and gun style of play, but injuries of late have hampered his ability to get on the park.
If he can stay fit then a big 10' is in store for the number 15.
