can anyone from Scotch tell me where Charlie Tallent is playing this year?
He is playing at Old Scotch this year, having a terrible run with a knee injury

Nicholson is the best 18 year old playing in the entire VAFA competition. He'll be drafted to one of the new AFL franchises.
blinky will strange?

Agreed. Nicholson is a star (thought he was older than 18 however)
Believe he did a pre-season with an AFL club pre 2009 season. Should be in the squad. Surely this is an oversight.
He trained with Hawthorn

See chairman of selectors Mick Hazell has decreed who is to be in the Vic Squad at this stage. How on earth did Nicholson from UB and Beck from OM miss out? Far too many ordinary B grade (and lesser grade) footballers in that squad for mine - who is Florance? Why are they plumbing such depths? In my day (not that long ago) it was a big thing to be selected for the big V - I don't remember too many D graders training on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings at EP back then.
Maybe Hazell feels morally obliged to look after the lower grades given his Salesian roots.
thanks for the kind words Max
I repeat what I say about Florance - who is he?
I think he won the Comp B & F in C Grade last year. Was Best on Ground in a State Game I saw.
PS: Marc, OS and OB's backline are nothing flash, even for B Grade.
Wow, Max, that's one helluva classy post you've written there. Three insults and a rebuttal that would get you laughed out of the Kaniva Commercial.
Now my maths isn't that great but if you play the rule of thirds (6 A-graders, 6 B-graders, 6 C-graders in any given team) that's a good 60 blokes who are "walk up starts" in A Grade amateur clubs. Hardly ticking the boxes for automatic representative selection, now is it?
"Pin head" and "moron" say more about the intellectual midget using the insults online than anything else, but it's the "newbie" one that gets me, and I can see it's not the fiirst time you've used it either.
Must be unreal rocking up to Old Ivanhoe in the pre-season.
New player: "Hey mate, my name's Bruce....yeah...from down Balnarring way. Hey would you like a cold one?"
Max : "P1ss off, moron, I don't talk to new players with pin heads like yours, come talk to me when you've been here a few years."
Kind of goes a long way to explaining what went on at Old Ivanhoe last year I guess.
Nicholson will play in the U19 match for sure - a match that will attract far more interest from AFL scouts.
Brucey, Brucey, Brucey
My comments were directed to a novice poster( May 2010), who gets on the Thread and bags a Footballer who quite deservedly is nominated for the Rep Team. Refer Scribes in depth background on said player.
So OI got relegated, it happens to all clubs except those in D4.
And Bruce if you rocked up and said I'm from Balnarring, I would do what anyone would do at OI, introduce you to the coach.
Anyone is welcome, the door is open, and hopefully I can joint the Premier A Thread next year. Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell.Go Hoes
Not sure who I bagged Max as no names were mentioned. Sloppy work.
Interesting to see the tribunal results from the weekend.
SBMT fined $1000 for the continual abuse both during and after the game of umpire Koffman by the president Matt Beasley.
SBMT president and officials are to visit umpire training and make an official verbal apology to the umpires and a written letter of apology is to be sent from Matt Beasley to Koffman.
If I remember correctly there has been a bit of history between Koffman and SBMT, originating in the 2006 C Section Grand Final between SBMT and Ajax...
Firstly Sach is a top bloke and great umpire - very much undeserved abuse.
So is Matt Beasley, you won't meet a better club prez or bloke, perhaps there is something underlying between the two, which I'm sure will be sorted out, not for us to speculate on in an open forum.
Would have thought this forum is precisely the place to discuss such incidents. $1000 fine = must have given him fair mouthful and clearly overstepped the line.
Well done to the tribunal for making the statement that such treatment of the umps isn't on.
And very timely with Umpire Appreciation Week coming up.
Regardless of if there was an underlying issue you just can't treat the umpires in that manner, especially as a leading official of a footy club.
