A serious question...

Just wanted to ask you Blues fans a question...

I've noticed for a while there is much hate from Blues fans towards the Saints, and while im not asking you to stop, am im compalining about it, i'm actually curious as to why...?

I've speculated early it is due to losing the #1 pick to us, but was never sure..

I understand the Carlton Collingwood Essendon stuff, however struggle as to why this new found (3-4 years i've noticed) hate comes of my mob... As silly as this sounds, im just curious really because carlton st kilda has never been a rivalry game or anything.. but it seems blues fans cant stand the saints... As i said, all for it, love the footy junk talk, but it always bugs me as to why??

Im asking seriously guys, please try and keep the trash talk elsewhere.. At least if i get a right response, ill be able to see where the hate comes from, cos honestly, i have no clue! (which may seem naive to you guys..)

the reason i hate st kilda is they are one of, if not the most under achieving club in the world. 111 seasons and 1 premiership countless wooden spoons. a head to head record with us which is laughable. yet your fans think you have the right to bag the most successful club in the league. if you werent so smug in your recent victories against us i wouldnt have a problem (for instance i dont dislikee the western bulldogs because they know their place in the world)

Well, they've had the wood on us since 2002 and in the past few years St. Kilda supporters on here have relished the chance to stick the boot in. In fact, you could say that they have trolled us more than either Essendon or Collingwood... which is strange. Over their history we've given them some almighty beltings, now the tables have somewhat turned.

I personally cant speak for everyone here, however I dont hate St Kilda because of the number 1 pick, we were cheating, we got caught, AFL penalised us, nothing to do with the Saints.

I actually dont hate St Kilda at all or at least not nearly as much as I hate Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond. However Im not happy about the fact that since 2001 you guys have just pansted us on a regular basis.

During the 80s and 90s it was the other way around, when I saw us playing St Kilda Id lick my lips and think "oooohhhh percentage booster".

Then all of a sudden after getting more round 1 picks then we have had in the last couple years, every one all of a sudden jumps on the Saints bandwagon. And you guys still fail at winning anything in the last 42 and doubt you will anything for another 42 years!!!

Good question Mullo. I can't speak for everyone but it has nothing to do with draft picks, with losing so many games in a row to you, any past games or anything like that. I think you'll find up until 2002 that most Blues fans were impartial to St Kilda, and they were my 'second team'. There was a lot of empathy for what the Saints had been through, and besides, a lot of Carlton players retired up at your place.

But then that all changed in 2002. Carlton were penalised, fair and square, and St Kilda fans came out of the woodwork, jumped on our carcass, abused us like nothing else and spat on us. St Kilda fans became super-cocky, despite a history no one would claim as their own, aggressive and openly attacked our mighty fine Club. St Kilda fans became obnoxious and over confident.

Over these years, not only have I gained a new respect for most of the struggling Clubs, particularly those who jump up the ladder with good recruiting and management, but I have lost respect for St Kilda fans. Shocking winners, no class. I hope it changes because I used to have a soft spot for them. Now there's nothing.

I had thought it had a lot to do with saints underachieving.. There are some saints supporters out there who take any chance to pump us up when we do well,. And considering out history, that makes us an easy target when we fail (04/05 etc…) They are a minority and rest assured most saints fans are like me and tend to try keep quiet till we actually achieve something! But remember, it’s a tough gig being a saints fan, we don’t see much success, so when we brag, remember, we just aren’t used to winning anything lol…just imagine following a team for 10 20 30 40 50 years without a flag…ah jeez lol

P.S: Milne and Joey were innocent! Lol…

St.Kilda always wasted Aaron Hammill's tallent and always brought himback too soon after injuries and forced him to retire, thats why I dont like st.kilda and also I cant stand that little piss-ant Steven Milne!

These two have really turned me off StKilda in the past couple of years i have been using BigFooty. I know all supporters have their share of ridiculous supporters, but these two go above and beyond the call of duty to negatively view anything that happens at, or with carlton. They seem incapable of taking an objective view and only seem interested in slandering the club and its supporters. Have almost ZERO credibility.

Other than that (i can live with their rubbish, i just ignore it), i dont have anything against St Kilda too much. Sure you beat us alot, but that only because you have been the better team, and good on you for really burrying us when you get the chance.

I love watching Riewoldt, as he's a superstar, and is enough reason for me to turn on the TV whenever St Kilda are playing.
