Brady Grey has been added to the squad for the Bulldog's game. :)

I like the look of Brady and thought he was looking promising, but his inclusion in the squad this early took me by surprise somewhat.

Any thoughts on his inclusion? Is it a like-for-like with MTB out, or does Ross have something else in mind?

Yeah I thought so too, and it's probably no more than that ...but I still have this nagging feeling he might get up over Sherro for some reason (no offence to Sherro, he's coming along nicely enough IMO, though there are others who disagree.)

Am I the only person here who thinks he might be up for a game this weekend?

As his buddy, hes I think he's earn't a go, maybe as a sub.
I'm just not sure he has the fitness to run out a full game as yet, although his numbers and reports have been glowing. Great round for a young indigenous kid to debut!

It is peculiar that he is named first on the interchange, can't read too much into it... Maybe its Silvagni and Deboer out for McPharlin and Grey.

I think a Brady Grey thread was made when Brady was first drafted to Fremantle last year (mods might be worth looking for it) and i made comment that I knew Brady personally through cricket. Really nice bloke too and down to earth. I'm sure his chance at AFL will come along soon.

Very well deserved call up.

Hard as a cats head, runs hard both ways, decent skills and very solid, (AFL ready) build.

I'd love to see him debut against the young Bullies midfield as he has genuinely earned his chance. If he does, he'll leave more bruises than he receives. That is for sure.

Ok now i'm excited. Be good to have another hard nut running around.

I thought he might need a bit longer in the wafl. However the two games I have watched Peel play this year he has played a run with role, he would make a idea defensive forward.

Yeah that occurred to me too. He's got the promise of real versatility for my money, much like A Pearce. He's surprisingly quick and moves very well in traffic, but isn't afraid of throwing his body into the contest and does a pretty reasonable run-with job at WAFL level. That's a really nice combination to have in one player frankly. Didn't he also kick a few in one of his more recent matches?

"Brady possesses tremendous speed and utilises it both offensively and defensively. His ability to take ground balls at top-pace is exceptional. He posseses an excellent vertical leap which allows him to be a marking option when resting forward. Brady is a really tough, competitive kid. He’s fairly new to footy and has never done a pre-season before, so the scope for improvement is massive with him."

Certainly sounds a prospect haven't seen his recent games for Peel. Would of have thought it unlikely for him to actually play yet although he could play a similar role to MDB. But then again so can Sylvia. Travel experience and reward for effort I would think.

Suspect it's the club's way of saying "you're on the right track son". Plus he maybe gets the chance for a quick trip to Tassie.

Yep, exactly. He will be emergency, but they'll take him over and show him that he's close. Shows the other boys the pressure for spots is hot too!
I'd say Sylvia will get the nod but. Fairly similar swap with DeBoer, lacks the tackling side, but will find the goals

please more info on this player, who is similar to Brady's style of play currently in the AFL? any comparisons?

Ever since my wife hit a feral cat with the car and we had to back over it's head to make sure it was dead this saying has lost all meaning for me. Things that are hard are not supposed to go pop.

He's probably best described as a mix between Ablett Jnr and Buddy, but I could be wrong:p

Still very tough for the size of the animal though. Couple of years ago West of Julia Creek on the way to Cloncurry they had had a feral cat plague following on from a mouse plague. We counted about 80 dead cats on the road within 20 km of the town.
