Is a good read, and certainly depicts how I feel lately when watching the summer of cricket. We've been spoilt for sporting success in the last decade whether it be Rugby, the olympics, or cricket. And when youre at the top theres only one place you can go.

Not to say that ive given up on this test series on the back of Day 1 of the first test, but we just have to accept that we no longer have a team of champions that can dispatch any touring side that steps on Australian soil.

Australian cricket (and world cricket) was better structured when the likes of Hayden, Langer, McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, etc, came along than it is now.

We will never see Test cricket played to that level of excellence again. The plethora of meaningless T20 matches and the lack of emphasis on Sheffield Shield cricket has made certain of that.

I remember when the Aussies were beating all and sundry, many on this forum were whingeing that it had become boring with Australia winning all the time. I'd rather be "bored" by a Gilchrist 100 or a Warne "Michelle" than what I'm watching now.

A sobering and appallingly written article!

"Tony Grieg’s adventurous key’s stuck in the WACA"
Leaving aside the crap punctuation, the man's name is Tony Greig!

"When I was growing up you could be rest assured ..."

"Australian’s love to win"

"Now, firstly, this does not condone in anyway the extraordinary performances of athletes and national teams from yester year "
WTF does this mean? He'd rather they did poorly? And yesteryear is one word.

Far too many howlers to mention each, but my personal favourite is
"Consequentially, I wonder whether ..."

I mean, FCS, can any illiterate flog get a job in the media these days?

That article has more mistakes per word than the first page of The Da Vinci Code! Seriously bad writing, if he got payed to write that, there is something seriously wrong in the world. That's not even year 7 English standard. Author is apparently in year 12, looking at the end of the article. He'd fail any kind of English or creative writing course on the basis of what I've just read.

We'll be number one in Tests again if we win this current series, isn't that good enough? **** me, we are only 5 ranking points off number one, I wouldn't exactly call us shit.

My word

My personal favourite was "at the London Olympics where by Australia performed outstandingly by virtue of population and slashed public expenditure to the Institute of Sport, but poorly in the eyes of the populous"

Poorly written article with inaccurate and pointless content. Other than that, a really good read.......

Well now that the grammar nazis have completely eviscerated it I'll just say I enjoyed reading it. It's a pretty simple thesis but, grammar aside I thought he evinced it quite well. And I agree with it.
