I understand what the league was trying to accomplish with CoLA and having lived in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane understand the concept\rationale if not the actual application.

BUT having lost talents like Rocca, Grant, Gaspar, Licuria et al it would have meant the death of a National League had nothing been done.
Again, understand the the angst of the Tippett, and then Franklin recruitements and the subsequent fight against CoLA led by Eddie and the Melbourne media.

We lost a Prelim in 2003 and were destined to go bottom of the ladder\need a full rebuild\more league assistance according to the "experts" in 2003, yet 2 years later won our first Premiership in 73 years and nearly went B2B with what was VIC rated as an ageing list with no youth. Credit where credits due TYVM.

I joined BF in 2003 (as you can see), I've learned a lot about online interaction, plus what happens at Australian grounds\counts as sportsmanship here over the past 3 decades.

I've made mistakes along the way, learned and adjusted.
I can be gracious in both victory and defeat.

I've also held the somewhat dubious honour of moderating here on BF and appreciate it takes all types and appreciate that your mods have allowed the to and fro of the conversation so far.

I've invited you to search my posting history (obviously you haven't) and now invite you to search Xtreme 's for "balance" and to put some more perspective into my reply (above).

I'll end by wishing you well for 2015 and to let you know that I'm always up for robust (not myopic) discussion.

Thanks for pointing that out...after the last 3 years you think I'd know that by now hey? I don't mind you defending yourself but remember where you are. I don't mind opposition supporters on our board, in fact I like it when they come in and reasonably argue their point - it is the rivalries that make footy great, but I think plenty will agree you are probably on the verge of overstaying your welcome.

Mate....Respect for your openness & honesty, not to mention your longevity on here....But moderation on an opposition teams board is the wisest policy!

No doubt the sting of 2014 is still intense, but you need to be a little more gracious & Humorous rather than pouring your heart out & bleeding all over the place.

You'll likely not get much love & understanding here due to the events surrounding Buddy in 2012 & the ensuing behavior of many Swans posters on the Main Board in it's aftermath.

Given your post was some 12 years ago, as you point out, then you really ought to have given it's bumping the same amount of due as a grain of salt!
