A week to go.

As I posted on the Mian bored I rate our preseason at about 5/10.
Not that it really matters if we beat Collingwood.
Last year we made the final of the wok and jumped out of the box against collingwood.
This year seems like a more interupted preseason with the trip to Geraldton and Ottens going down.
I dont mind starting of slow but by mid season I wont us in the eight and ready to finish the season off with a good run of wins.

I still think the side has too develope a new game plan by introducing more young Talent. And give them more responsibility.

Rodan must be given more time in the middle as with Krakker. Campbell of half back and Cameron's skills up forward would net a few extra goals.
Shultz should be carried by team. We need talls and it's time to blood someone. The fact that he is young is just bad luck. As the third backman behind Kellaway and Holland he would learn at a quicker rate then playing for Coborg............................................................I think what i'm trying to write is.

Yeah Benny Gale was played week in ...week out...played some shockers...."hungry' persisted...the rest is written. Same plan with schulz...no Holland/Otto makes it obvious. same with Vardy...many want him cut...most/all of those commentators have none/limited playing experience. Vardy needs to get game time...confidence....weeks at a time. Make mistakes ? Everyone does...head up and keep running. Hit the ball hard...eyes on the ball.

Sorry Darren I typed with out thinking again. I meant to say "As the third backman behind Kellaway and Gasper" seeing that Holland looks unlikly for a bit longer.


The fact that Shultz 17-18 years old is just bad Luck. We have to play someone and if Vardy is not upto it than we must persavere(spelling?) with shultz. It would be nice to let the kid develope in cotton wool but I think we deperatly need someone to stand up. Why not let him develope in the ones?
We have enough experience down back to carry him.
Justy give him simple instructions like. Punch the ball away from yopur oponent. easy. I should be a coach

it seems the hardest skill a player can have is to run with the man...i mean real close...touch him all day even on a lead....i had youngsters all around me in the backline a week or 2 ago...they WOULD NOT stand with their man...like leaning on your opponent is somehow going to make you gay...they'd hang near them...2-3 meters but just couldn't stand touching them. i made a kid stand with his shoulder in the guys ribs...he just looked embarassed...soon as my back turned, guess what ?

They can kick balls through swinging tyres but won't man up...toe to toe ? I don't know...so the fwd shoves you around...so what...don't like ? ..play tennis.

yeah we lost...

i blame the media...never highlight a backman being accountable...only loose running goalkickers ever make the highlights.

Ive got a feeling that this season will be alot like last season. I just dont think that we are good enough. Ottos down and the season hasnt even started yet. We have been flying all over the place but I dont think that will be a big deal when we play Collingwood.

Basically Richmond have two choices. Obviously we would like to aim high. Top 6, top 8 - something along those lines. Or they could take every week as it comes and just play the best that they can play, win lose or draw the week before.

Obviously losing Ottens for half the year is going to hurt us as he is one of our important players. But we still have to believe we can win and be competitive without him. Don't listen to all the media reports saying that we are gone now because one player has gone down. One player won't be the difference between challenging for the eight and then challenging for the wooden spoon.
