It was ugly, but it was a win.

Crows were today one of only two teams in ten attempts to win the game following a long road trip, either to the Gabba or to Perth.

So from that point of view it was pleasing.

Had Crows lost, they would have slid down to 12th. Having won, Crows are 6th. While we do have that to be grateful for I suppose, it does highlight very well how vulnerable Crows position is due to their poor percentage.

Crows need a really decent win from somewhere. A whopping margin.

Its very hard to see us getting that when every team plays a flood against us, basically it works because of our lack of dominant forwards, although the opposition isn't winning the games, so its a bit hard to see why they persist with it.

Perhaps Crows can wring a good win out of the Saints game or the WCE game to come. It won't get us into the top four given the high percentage of those four teams, but it may protect our spot in the eight a little should we lose a game.

Solutions: Marsh to FF? Bring back Richo for another go at it? Burton on the forward flank (or even CHF) all the time? Anything has got to be better than Vardy & Welsh are doing right now.

Nothing to get exited about

It was nothing to get exited about was it?
Our backline won the game in particular Bouncing Benny Hart. What a consumate defender he is. And consistent.

I think the backline needs to stay the way it is and maybe the centreline too with perhaps Roo the only query.

Hes not a CHF and McGregor has lost that spark he had a couple of weeks ago. Id rest him back in the SANFL.

Is Hewitt ready to replace him at CHF?

Maybe not Richo just yet.....perhaps against the Westcoast. Id be surprised if hes picked up where hes gone wrong in just 2 weeks(although he kicked a bag)...

Why not Crowell and Marsh.

Marsh would have to be FF while Crowell in one pocket may be an option. He can lead / chase and has a good grab. Vardy and Welsh need to crumb

From memory...the bullys have a smallish backline?
We can beat them but we'd want to lift

And Er...Go Crows
