francis battles for what it's worth and I thought Jordon was excellentZ

The defence were solid as a unit, Melican and Mccartin together helps
I liked Francis today…as you say kept toiling away….but he is a little more than that. He gets himself into space and gets ignored too much. Some of the delivery to him isn’t great but he will generally make a contest of poor delivery. Never will be more than a solid citizen, but he has been holding his end of the bargain up.

BOG average, can’t tackle - human turnstile - only in cos of injuries
I'd describe McInerney right now as "good enough."

Considering that literally every player in the team seems to be hindered somewhat by a gigantic, glaring weakness in their game that seems to rear its head every week or two, we just need them to at least be bringing they're strengths to the forefront as often as possible.

McInerney's tackling has been poor no doubt, and his kicking radar is still somewhat off (minus some cheap junk time passes late.) But he's covering the ground and getting from contest to contest exceptionally well. His running is his biggest strength, and he's doing it well enough to always be an option - 20+ disposals in his last six games, almost all from just being on the move and getting receives.

The flankers are a problem in this team for sure, but he's probably the best of them at this stage.

Kudos to Leon Cameron

I like how we've dragged him out of his cushy role to run the box 😂

McInerney had the third most tackles on both teams after Rowbottom and Campbell. A couple were stingers. He missed one that I saw, perhaps others I didn't see. I doubt.
Lloyd one tackle.

Lloyd is absolutely the worst offender of the quote-unquote flankers. As you know I am his biggest fan but I said at selection he should've been dropped.

Lloyd's figures are part of refuting your view that McInerney is a "poor tackler, no doubt". He isn't. Florent is, Lloyd is, Blakey often is (though when he hits it's good) and there are some who don't get into position to make tackles.
Today's one tackle brigade:
Bice, Blakey, Hanily, Jordon, Lloyd, McLean, Corey, Wicks (his one was a crusher)
Zero: Adams, Francis, McCartin, Rampe.

But total tackle numbers don't reflect the quality of those tackles. If someone gets 15 kicks in a game, does that mean they're a good kick?

There were some very lazy efforts without the ball today, he is to inconsistent for me.
I actually thought he was one of the best out there....we must be watching different games. He's so crucial to our attack...just.from memory two great intercepts of handballs when the tiges were out. Intelligent handballs under players. Better kicking. He's also a great team mate in terms of enthusiasm and energy to the rest of the team. I don't know what his kms are but he covers a lot of ground. It's hard to be consistent with injury and suspension

Cox looked to take a back seat today, sitting at ground level today. I think it was a good move as he looked broken after last week. Nice to see the club supporting him.

I think the bye came at the right time for Cox not sure what to make of his press conference it doesnt speak of confidence anything beyond this week.

Did anyone notice Cox first response the team was nervous in the first 10mins because they didnt know how they would get it done(a response that they talked about)

I thought that was a very weird and worrying response perhaps a unintended insight from Cox on how bad things are??
He is the most open coach I have seen about what is going on, by a fair way.

Most coaches would never admit things like that, so it’s hard to tell how much they happen
