I actually liked Francis today. Thought he presented really well, our forwardline looks much better with him up there. Yes it would look even better with an actual key forward, but honestly I agree with the commentators today, there's something about Francis that you just like and I feel like if we persevere with him up forward and let him build some confidence there's a chance some magic could happen. Not saying he'll win a Coleman or anything but could be a solid contributor up forward.

Healy was very bullish on him in much the same way

Can't really read much into the attacking players in our side, they ran around doing what they wanted for three quarters

As far as others, I thought Rampe & McCartin were both good, albeit they will face far tougher challenges than Richmond's forward line. Just thought Rampe moved well and provided a lot of drive.

Bice's kicking has all but abandoned him. Or maybe it was never there in the first place and the red hot start to his career was a false dawn.

Wicks good, Jordon good, Melican good, I really like him when he arches the back a little and takes off. Everyone talks about McCartin but to me Melican looks our most mobile tall down back.

Probably a good game for Cunningham to return in. If there were any issues with him then they weren't exposed.

Mills was good, I like him down back but I also like him kinda roaming the field and just doing what he wants a bit.

Rowbottom felt the most impactful player and I gave him votes but gee whiz this is the worst he has ever looked, just looks a shell of his best self (except his tackles, still the best I've probably seen)

Sheldrick solid but needs to be a lot better.

Blakey it can be tempting to write off his game as a training drill for him, but he actually took all the chances that Richmond afforded him, whereas guys like Lloyd, Warner, McInerney, Heeney etc. would still fluff their lines a lot considering the amount of time and space they often had. Blakey was just near faultless, and it seemed to make him play more courageously as well as he threw himself into contests and stuff like he hasn't done all year.

So, yeah. I still think we're a bit of a mess, especially in the front half. But it's amazing how often you will be up to your eyeballs in games when you nail the pressure side of the game, no matter who it's against.

there is no way that lloyd should be playing ahead of florent - even if florent is up for trade.

i am biased against lloyd but where he excelled was in the 14m kick - but every umpire sits on him on those kicks and his long kicking is nothing particularly impressive. He has no trade currency so have him in the 2s. If florent is going to be traded lets have him in the ones.

Ive been bullish on him for weeks. in fact since the port game where we got smashed by 1000 points. he was the only player who when he pplayed forward that night who looked like he knew the thing that we were trying to get was the ball.

Backline was much more solid, Midfield showed more energy.

Forward line- MacLean tried, but it’s like a net with more holes than string atm.

Desperately need Amartey and Papley and we may salvage something from the season.

Also agree, Lloyd is a dead man walking as is Adams.

The effort was there. Better than them spitting in our faces like they did the last couple of weeks. The question is, is Harry Cunningham our most important player. I say yes.

Don't know about "most" but I agree his smarts and composure have been missed.

Good win, though tough to tell how good given Richmond were shocking after quarter time. What was most pleasing to me is our players seemed to know where their teammates would be. Looked like there was trust again, a bit of system.

Still plenty to work on but a big tick overall.

A part of the reason Richmond we’re shocking was how well we set up defensively and closed down their game. Very impressive by Swans

I rate Florent. He's just out of form but looked good in VFL today. Once he's back to his best, he's a better player (unpopular opinion on here) than Lloyd, Roberts, Bice, Corey, Cleary and Hanily.
