I don't know where they get back from with Maric, he rolled his ankle at training on Saturday at Carrara and limped from the ground.

And how can Welshy be out for another 3 weeks with a SHIN???

It means he'll be 'back' in 1 week.

shin splints isnt it? painful and annoying to get rid of.

As the doctor explained it to me when I had it, it's bassically lots and lots of little fractures in the bone, all too small to show up on X-rays. :(

Welshy's problems were worse than shin splints (although they are bad enough as I've had them also), they were actual stress fractures. These cannot be healed without almost a total abstinence from legwork, whereas with shin splints, you can still do a modified program.

:( bugga...

either way, in 3 weeks time (if the fractures are gone by then) he'll be another week or two off being anywhere close to being match fit.

Is anybody else more than a little concerned about Bock's buggered back? He's been 2 weeks away for 6 weeks now, and I seem to remember him missing some games last year with back troubles. I'm praying this isn't a case of Bowen Lockwood re-loaded

Ever have the misfortune to miskick a soccer ball with them?

Felt like I'd been hit in the shin with the serious end of a samurai sword...

I'm pretty sure I overheard them say at training on Saturday (ah the beauty of being at a small interstate ground!) Bock had just started back at training and he'd "probably be 1-2 weeks".

My thought when I hear them say "back" is the back-related hamstring problems of young Matty Liptak (and those that kept Harty out of much of last year or year before - lord I've lost track of time:eek: ).

Yikes.... sounds like a career-ending injury if you ask me. :( Surely his bones must be weak to suffer from this in the first place? Running on hard surfaces, jumping and landing heavily are only going to exacerbate it. Wouldn't be surprised (although would be VERY disappointed) if that's all for Scotty.

Stinger had stress fractures as well and Thommo has stress fractures in his shin during his first pre-season with us.

Its a common injury amongs footy players. He will get back from it. He won't be the only one to have that injury and come back from it as good as new.
