Games played probably a factor for Rich. Only played 13/17 which probably just edged him out of contention.

Harris snuck in with only 14 games, but it's easier to make a case for him when he's clearly the best defender in the game (the word clearly may be substituted with arguably if you are not currently wearing your Brisbane-tinted goggles).
You'd have to think Rich's suspension counted against him

He also missed out last year, which I didn't understand.

Another one unlucky two years in a row is Jack Crisp. Maybe the selectors just got embarrassed about how many Collingwood players somehow got in, but surely he's more influential than Daniel.

The squad feels a lot like picking left-field suggestions, like picking a squad for an opinion piece, rather than actually figuring out who the best players have been in each position.

That said, Andrews and Neale are really the only Lions I would have in the squad.

Not more influential than Daniel, but I'd have him in ahead of Maynard.

Pretty sure pendlebury was around the same mark as 13 played as well.

Im feeling Lyons deserved a spot at the expense of Pendlebury or Hugh. So underrated is Lyons. Does his job week in week out so quietly and thats probably his problem. No fan fare with this bloke.

Moore over Weitering. I'd agree with that but there will be some salty Blues posters on bigfooty.

In terms of the 22 I think Rich would've been deserving, Lyons should've made the squad but probably isn't best 22. Other than Rich though, Neale and Andrews are the right choices. It's hard to make a case for anyone else.

Hugh probably down on last year where he was robbed, but Cam Guthrie. Give me a spell.

Lachie officially Coach's player of the year

Snubbed wingers again.

Guthrie over Menegola when Menegola has been better, on a wing, in the same team?

Selectors need to stop fitting players in. If there was someone better, you miss out! Waiting for more mids to fill flanks and pockets to fit them in....

Not to be a total creep but Danger had his interview in the same room at Metricon as Lachie did... wouldn’t be there unless he was presenting an award...

AFLPA MVP Award lets gooooooo!

hahaha this is just insane. Don't know why I'm surprised though..
Oh wow, Dustin Martin in the forward pocket...

I can't take this anymore. No wingers, mids being picked in the forward line.

I've tried to watch this without drinking tonight, but this broke me.

I'm going to get a beer.
