Our midfield is certainly going to miss Jones' dynamism and explosiveness. Feels a bit one paced, and definitely think we'll get exposed in there.

Forwards look good, but it's irrelevant if we can't get it to them.

Happy the youngsters are getting another game in the legs. Will be watching Owens, Windy, NWM keenly.

Also, keen to see Battle play another game down back as he continues to solidify his spot.

No, I disagree.
A practice match is not the best way for us to honour his memory.
I’ve mentioned in the dedicated thread that I hope the Club honours him appropriately and that is the first game against Collingwood.

When we do have a special game for Warnie, let’s do it as a celebration of the life of an unbelievable sportsman, larrikin and great fan and past player of the club -

not as the funereal downer we had before our game for Spud, our legend.

I kind of knew this response would come, that's why I said despite it being just a practice match. I know the irrelevancy of tonight's game, but it would be nice for them to still win it given the shit news of the last few hours. That's all.

Spud was different though.

Yes, I know.
And I’m pretty sure the mental health issue surrounding it, and the grief, were handled really well in-house with the players and all at the club.

I’m sure it was all done at the game with the best of intentions, but that game should also have been a celebration of his life, not the emotionally draining experience it turned out to be.

As I said, it’s my opinion only, but our players were emotionally gone before the first siren.
