Freo alert!!!!

Freo alert!!!!

Freo alert!!!!

Not sure about this one. Maybe a swap of 3-4th rounders to complete the contract and we will take his salary off Norths books. Front end his contract with match day incentives.

Will at least provide competition in the forward line. Bonus if he comes on in the new environment

Manager has confirmed he'll be exploring his options on trade radio. Thoughts? Who wants him? What does North want?

Probably to off load his contract - 2 more years.

Was not likely to make our 22 next year. We would be better off to off load his contract and get some established mid even if he is 30.

they offered a 1st rounder a few years back but since he did his shoulder he's gone to s**t. Would take a 3rd rounder if it freed up cap space to use elsewhere. He's on good coin.

This has been signposted for awhile now. Clearly he has not come on as expected, and with Roos recruiting they have shown they have little faith in him. Fremantle won't give up much at all, and North are probably more interested in the salary relief than the trade itself. Perhaps Mzungu if a player was wanted. There won't be many draft picks available.

Mzungu.

Sold...you are lucky he turns 30 by the start of next season, so he fits in with our list profile.

hasn't recovered from his injury unfortunately......or is mentally weak...would rather not have Mzungu, not because i don't rate him but because of his age.....Would Freo consider giving up Weller for Norths first round pick and Black.....maybe with some pick upgrades involved?

fair enough

Sorry, I should give a better answer... its not a bad offer - your pick maybe being around the 16-18 mark? plus Black.. Depends on if you believe the rumours that he wants to go home. If Freo caught wind of it - then they would look at such offers. Possibly 3 way trade with you and St Kilda.

But - we want to keep him, will be a gun

He got a 4yr deal at the end of 2013.

Excessive?
At the time no. 2013 was his first real season and he averaged close to 2 goals a game as second/third banana. Looked the goods, then injury got him again. Since then he just hasn't looked like playing at the same level at all. Needs a new home, and it should get done if the price is reasonable.

All good mate. Pick 15 (before any compo) so probably around the 18 mark. Black has asked to be traded and he'd go home to WA if given the opportunity.

North need a player like Weller desperately. Would be interesting to know how Freo rated him. Were into him in a massive way before he signed his current contract.

And we should have marketed him as the next Gunston and sold him on 2 years ago.

Would have been smarter then the long contract!!! To be fair though, at the time you didnt know you were going to get Waite.
