Maybe after the Daniher fiasco? Should be a pretty straight forward deal though, maybe we are waiting on Melbourne to confirm the Weideman deal to do a simple three-way trade.
Should deal francis regardless. Not like Weideman changes anything on the francis end
We either get him or have an extra pick.

Swans and Essendon were ready to trade but Carlton were the ones who refused to improve their offer. Daniher trade needed the Papley trade to be completed first

Kinnear Beatson saying this is likely to be part of a 3 way trade between Melbourne Essendon and Swans, as long as a certain party is realistic in their requests (any guesses as to who he might be referring to there)
Apparently Melbourne are asking for our F3 instead of yours.

Honestly if we get a few points tacked on in the end then that's all I really want.

Don't see why that would hold the overall deal up.

ie If you guys are happy with a R3 for Francis you'd think that deal could get done quickly
Then if Dodo wants to haggle over 10-15 spots in the 3rd round for Weideman he can go for his life as a separate trade.

Its one of those situations where its strange that fringe players who realistically are worth R3 or R4 are taking till the last day to get done...

Eh, we only showed interest in Weideman over the weekend, and Melbourne were pretty focused on the Jackson deal up until yesterday. Not sure if Sydney were part of any other deals.

We were probably waiting on a couple of picks to fall into place to see if we can grab some extra points for Alwyn junior

Given no deals can be done until 3pm today it's just as likely it's all sorted and they're making up the rest.

The Weideman one was late altogether, only met the new coach on Monday.

Francis himself hadn’t met Brad Scott yet either.

I don’t think it’s much of an impediment other than it’s probably reasonable for the player to talk to the new coach so that he can make an informed decision about what’s best for him, and from the club side it’d be a bit rude to hear a player wants to leave and not even try to talk to him about it.

Overall though the writing is on the wall, he needs a fresh start and Sydney can give him that, along with a bit of anonymity.

Fair enough

Sydney hadn't been involved in anything else other than trying to swap one of our R1's into a F1

Interestingly enough, we're probably going to try to trade up to one of your firsts come draft night to see if we can sneak another pick in before GWS probably bid on Davey.

Everyone is trying to get into the high end next year. Doubt it will happen unfortunately.

Slide back 5 places and a r4 pick for Francis, seems fairly realistic for his worth

Fingers crossed we get something out of him
In the end we traded it to Melbourne in the Weideman deal anyway
