Every team needs a small defender, and AJ is the best we've got.

His best is very, very good. His worst is very, very bad. I understand why he frustrates some given this gulf, but I thought he was pretty good last night, and has been good for a month.

Maybe Ellard could be tried in this position. I'd be something worth trying this year to learn a little more about Dave.

My post was in response to a question of "did I miss something" and was suggesting that if you were a one eyed hater of Joseph you would fail to see that he was a long way from our worst yesterday.

Does that explain?

In fact, given the lack of discussion points in the OP, and the fact it is a one line slagging off thread, it probably shouldn't even be open, except to hold the OP accountable. Not a lot of constructive food for thought there, negative or positive.

Maybe Ellard could be tried in this position. I'd be something worth trying this year to learn a little more about Dave.

Ellard is better under the packs and has a knack for getting forward of centre and kicking the odd goal. He lacks the speed to get back in defence when the ball is kicked over his head. Joseph can keep up with your Milne types and has a bit of strength to push off and buy him half a second to get to the ball.
