I can see thr reasoning behind playing Big Bird V cats they though that Ottens what physically work over Robbie BUT because Ottens smashed him in the ruck and was far too mobile for him around the ground Happy givving heaps of cms and kgs away battled manfully against both of them . In hindsight should have played Robbie and sent Big Bird for his operation ready for 2008.

Sandilands should not be playing whether he is injured or not. I have said this before but he is over rated.

He may as well have had a Geelong jumper on, i lost count the amount of times he hit the ball to the advantage of the cats. He wont kick the football, he cant mark, he is useless around the ground. All he has going for him is he is tall and can get his hand to the ball, but he doesnt use that ability.

Drop him bring Warnock in.

I never understood the last 8 weeks hearing before every game that Sandi was a 50/50. He would then play, clearly hindered then would miss the following week. Surely just putting him out until he was 100% would be better for his and the clubs long term success?

Longmuir is usually our back up ruckman but he is gone for god knows how long, Gilmore has come in the last few weeks to back up either Sandi or Warnock... he has played a lot better than I expected, usually loses the taps but his work around the ground has been very impressive.

Dockers' Sandilands out for AFL season

Fremantle ruck giant Aaron Sandilands will miss the rest of the AFL season because of surgery to repair a hernia.

Normally a dominant player at stoppages, he struggled badly against Geelong at Subiaco on Saturday, the club admitting he was showing early signs of osteitis pubis.

The Dockers said on Monday they had decided he would have surgery now so he could recover in time to complete a full pre-season in readiness for 2008.

Continuing to play would have also created the possibility of further damage.

The loss of the star ruckman further erodes what faint hopes the club had of making the finals, all but dashed by the loss to the Cats.
