The Pub.
just watched it (taped it)- and if it was like that every week- id watch it more.

Did blighty wanna punch out Gerard or what ??? And didnt sheahan make a tool of himself as usual.

good point rasied tho, like, Why isnt the all-australian coach judged on the same 22 games as the players ???? Should losing a single finals game take a coach out of contention ?????

I was also personally stoked to see Silvagni ommitted for once. yaaay

I was also wondering (im not gonna mention names) if certain players wouldn't be there, if the int. rules series didnt exist, and therefore didnt come into the minds of the selectors.

Also- who chooses the committee that chooses the AAustrlian team ????? would be interested to know.

cheers

A.

I too have been wondering whether the All Aust. team selection is infuenced in anyway by the International Series against Ireland.

What other reason could there be for omitting a backup ruckman, tall slow players are practically useless in the hybrid game. If the selectors gave even a microsecond thought to the games against Ireland in their selections for the All Aust. team the whole concept is completely flawed.

I want a selector to come out in the media and state that selection of players has nothing to do with the Irish games, then I'll be satisfied because at the moment I just don't know.

Aren't an additional 10 players chosen for the Irish series alone? Ten extra players plus those already in the All-Australian side surely gives Australia its best possible line-up for the international series. Just because you're All-Australian doesn't mean you automatically get picked, does it?

I read that Ansett Cup form is also taken into account when the selectors choose the All-Aussie team. Is that true? If it is, then it's wrong. Pre-season games are meaningless.

Arch,

Dead right. Kevin Sheedy should be coach of the team. No doubt. 21 out of 22. What more does he have to do.

Are they telling is that if Hawthorn wins the GF, Schwab becomes the best coach of the year ?

What if Essendon loses by a point again ? Does that make Sheedys achievement not as good ? Are they going to judge the coach on whether they lose a one-off match ? If they do, then that's stupid. I suppose when Essendon lost a one-off match to the Bulldogs two weeks ago, this means that Sheedy shouldn't be All-Australian coach. Same diff. It's a one-off match.

I think Kevin Sheedy should be coach (unbiasely). Hopefully, justice will prevail, and we will win the Grand Final. I'm sure the AFL hopes it too, since it would embarass them if we don't.

Exactly Dan24

The premiership is what counts, not how you get there.

Glory from H&A season = Brownlow, Coleman and Minor Premiership.

The REAL FOOTY is just about to start, fasten your seat belt.

If they were selecting players for Ireland, why didn't they choose the guys who can actually play that game ?

Cousins, Crawford, Hart ... players who are familiar with the concepts. Otherwise we're going to get hammered.
