Last week while watching the under 18's football side from Nowra the game was called off after a freakish incident occured,
A fright train which was traveling on the railroad tracks right next to the football ground lost control and was derailed, it wasn't a major accident but 3 cars loaded with what was thought to be water were lying on there side leaking the fluid into a near by drain,
Little did anyone realise that the leaking substance was actually a highly toxic weed killer which was in turn leaking into the grounds water tanks underground,
at half time the grounds keeper decided to water the ground down just to be on the safe side,
when he turned on the sprinklers everyone was amazed to see blue water coming from the sprinklers,
the grounds keeper turned them off but it was too late, the highly toxic and undiluted fluid burnt all the grass on the ground,
2 days later the ground is nothing more than a dirt filled eye sore, well its actually a muddy eyesore now,
just thought I would let you all know
the game was abandoned by the way and was called a draw even though nowra was leading by 16 goals,
a brawl broke out after the decision and 20 people where arrested,
2 dogs were also taken in by police for questioning and an 100 year old grandmother is also helping the police with there inquiries
