Axing of ABC Coverage of WAFL -* As you may be aware ABC management recently announced cuts to its TV production units namely to the programs The New Inventors, Art Nation and The Collectors.*ABC management also admitted they were axing their coverage of lawn bowls. Over the next few weeks it is widely anticipated the ABC will be confirming the axing of its local sports coverage including coverage of the WAFL.

All Tigers supporters can support the campaign to protect local sports coverage and the retention of local ABC Television production in WA by making a submission to the Senate Inquiry that has been called to examine the recent ABC programming decisions. Please act quickly however as the closing date for submissions is* September 9th.
*
The program cuts follow an announcement earlier this year to cease internal ABC TV production in Western Australia. The cuts will result in the centralisation of production in Sydney and the loss of regional and Western Australian voices from your ‘national broadcaster’, the ABC.
*
The Senate Inquiry has been called to examine the ABC program cuts and outsourcing and to consider their impact on regional coverage. Make your views known by making a submission to the inquiry. This can be done easily and quickly online. Details about the inquiry and their terms of reference can be found at:

This may be our only hope!

I heard a rumour that the camera men were not happy with the facilities provided to them at a few grounds because of safety concerns.
Shark Park (East Fremantles home ground) was the major one.
Getting their equiptment up to where it has to be is not very stable.
