Ablett Envy

Yep, his average disposals in the first 5 rounds is indicative and will not differ from his average disposals after 22 rounds. Do you also subscribe to the notion that Josh Fraser is going to average 115.5 DT points over the whole 22 rounds?

Just comparing the chances of Ablett getting 40 possies vs Bartel getting 13 tackles, which is what the original argument was about.

I think Ablett has much more of a chance of doing that than Bartel getting 10+ tackles.

For him to increase his price above $500,000 is amazing, what is that for av points, 115+? He will finish with 120 av and win the brownlow, Gun.

envious. after seeing his last few numbers i was considering pulling some strings to get him into my team this week, but his price will come down eventually. that, and houlihan (one i'd have to sacrifice seeing as my kids still aren't worth enough to cash in) earned his keep this round making it harder to give him the flick.

on the other hand, i won all 3 of my league matches, despite my kaptain kornes putting in a shocker, and a forward line donut. 2 of my league opponents had ablett as captain but still lost to me. neither me or my opponents are all that highly ranked but like some people say, ablett can cover up poor recruiting. come later in the year the noobs all over ablett will rue picking DT turds like presti and morris instead of rookies.

I could have brought him in for Otten this week, but picked up Franklin instead.:o

Serious envy here.

The problem I have now is that I figured he'd get hurt and miss a couple like last year, so I'd hold off until he dropped a bit. Now every round I don't have him is one round closer to him getting hurt. I just KNOW that if I bring him in he'll Brent Harvey me.

The only thing that pisses me off about Ablett doing well is that i worked and worried all week and put Priddis captain (139), and all the other idiots out there can just lock Ablett in and still get a higher score. I don't wish I had Ablett, I just wish he would get an injury.
Yes that is harsh but this is DT.

You'll get abused for that. But I agree 100%. Not a serious injury, just a niggling injury that doesn't hurt him, just scares the coaching staff enough to not let him play for a few weeks, then be a late withdrawal. Then come out and say he will be rested till finals. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::D:D:D

Yeh I was going to say a niggle, but he would still get 140 with a niggle. Unless he doesn't play, of course.

During the week Brett Ratten made a comment about Andrew Carrazzo. Whilst I cannot remember the exact wording and therefore will not quote, it went something along the lines of even if he wasn't playing, he'd be able to find 20 odd possessions from the grand stand.

I wonder what Ratten would say about Ablett ;). I'd probably still put him captain :D

I picked Ablett and Bartel from the start. Up until today i was thinking i had probably made a bit of a mistake but im fairly pleased after todays effort.

Yeh I heard that, was at the game, he didn't do too well......Scotland on the other hand was very good.

Every year I say "he can't keep that scoring up, his price will come down" and every year I get proven wrong. You think I might have done the smart thing and picked him up from the start.

so wat do you suggest we ablett owners just ignore him when the captaincy choice comes around. If someone is averaging 120+ your most likely going to put him captain, would be idiotic if we didnt.

picking ablett from the start for mine was partly influenced for the availability of a captain choice every week.

If Geelong keep pumping everyone going into say, Round 18 or something...you'd think Ablett would be given a week or two off. If he doesn't get injured until then that's what I'll be hoping for :o preferably more than that too...
I'm almost afraid of what he could do next week against Melbourne! God I hope I don't come up against an elim opponent who has him

Didnt do well? How much did you see of gilbee?! Carrazzo completely took him out of the game playing a defensive HF. While yes carrazzos DT scores were rubbish, it was due to a bad role (DT wise) - however i thought he did very well.

Im thinking if carrazzo pulls a few more low ones though, he could be a nice target for when he returns to his whimsy, cheap, uncontested, irrelevent, junky, outside... role.

lolwut? I'm confused.

its seriously sick. you see him on screen and you just know he is gonna get it handballed to him. even though bartel has kept up for 4 of the 5 rounds it always seems like ablett is owning him. he seriously cant be stopped. only way i cant see him getting big score is if he gets about 30 possesions but doesnt get many marks because he had someone with him and doesnt score a goal and only gets a few tackles but he just makes up for it in the next week. he is an absolute gun.
nearly got injured like i predicted he would this game though, getting tackled lots he got driven into the ground twice, once hurting his wrist and the other could often have resulted in a shoulder injury but unfortunately neither of the two occured.
