Agile and tall, fast on a lead with neat skills and not too bad below his knees; he was a bit slim when he was at Carlton, but I always rated Oliver. I got the feeling he wasn't one of the boys down at the Blues though, as often his teamates wouldn't honour his leads, even though he'd made good position.

Yeah, a pity he didn't want it. He was definitely good enough.

Ross Ditchburn is the one that really hurts though. How many premierships would we have won if we'd kept him AND Greg Williams during the 80s?

It's probably a good thing for Ablett that someone like Oliver has come out and commented.

It's a shame he didn't continue but we have to remember footballers are human and some aren't ruled by it like others. Or if there's no 'fire in the belly' then I think it's really brave to back away
