I think so. I get the umpire repirting it because of what it looked like.

Even though raising your arms is actually instinct when protecting yourself, it's viewed by the AFL as intentional.

He'll get a ban, go to the tribunal and then who knows. If the Essendon Medical report shows Shiel's radar was knocked off centre then he's in trouble.

I'm struggling to see the difference between Cousins last week and Ablett this week. Both were hits after a player had handballed, both collected the opponent high with enough force to knock the player down.

Cousins at least had his feet on the ground when he made contact. Ablett is off the ground when he makes contact which makes it harder to argue he was protecting himself.
