Maybe should have gone on another board, but.
Has there been a genuine Aboriginal inside midfielder? Was just thinking, and couldn't think of any.

I think the likes of Rodan, Kerr, Burgoyne (x2) and Rioli are all predominantly ball-winning inside players. McLeod was brilliant at it too. Tambling has always struck me as an inside ball-winner rather than the outside runner he's been used as.

Most of them also have significant attributes that allow them to be "outside" players too, and are generally used as a 2nd-4th midfielder, rather than the 'extractor'.

Kerr and Rodan aren't aboriginal.

Adam Cockie - currently on West Coast's rookie list and played 7 games of AFL last year.

Warren Benjamin - currently on North Melbourne's list - hasn't played an AFL game yet but was drafted as an inside midfielder.

Alan Christensen - currently on Geelong's list is best suited to an inside midfield role from what I've seen of him in U18s.

Albert Proud - currently on Brisbane's list - was drafted as an inside midfielder - hasn't cemented his place at AFL yet.

There are probably a few more I'm missing ...

Realise that JDC, but if I just listed Burgoyne and Rioli - well what would BF think? :D

I don't particularly 'like' the phrasology of the thread anyway - why should they be classified by race in the first place? (That's a whole different discussion, so I'll leave it there).

FWIW, Hawthorn have had an abundance of 'inside' midfielders for quite some time now (Mitchell, Sewell, Tuck, Shiels, (Kennedy), and dual players like Hodge, Lewis, Burgoyne, Rioli, Ellis), yet struggle to develop 'outside' players - Bateman and Crawford our last two of any note, both well before AC's start. Every draft/season seems to unveil a new great running midfielder - yet whether by design or not, HFC don't seem to be able to do the same.

You should really look that stuff up Simon considering you claim to be intelligent :p

Assuming they're aboriginal because they're dark is not on :thumbsd:
