Abortion

My Thoughts
1-12 weeks - abortion legal, no Doctors consent required (no reason required).
13-16 weeks - legal with Doctors consent (Medical reason required - physical danger to mother/severely disabled child).
16-20 weeks - legal with 2 x Doctors and Fathers consent (Medical reason required - physical danger to mother/severely disabled child).
20+ weeks - illegal

I think this regime finds a nice balance.

If the father has to pay child support for a child that lives surely they should be part of the decision making process to terminate a pregnancy.

It's only fair.
yeah if you have a medical reason and need two doctors and it could be life threatening to the mother I don't see why the father of the child gets a say

Makes fathers feel involved and will stop the complaining from MRAs that say "men don't get a choice".

As I said my approach was to satisfy all parties ... which includes the fathers.

try and please everyone and you will please no one

looked more like an effort to sneak men's rights into that choice, followed by well if its in at 16 weeks it can be in at 12 and so on

Plenty of medical problems that are only detectable around the 20 week mark, it is absolutely heart breaking to be told your baby has a slim to no chance of survival at the 20 week scan and then not even having the option of aborting.....

And the fathers consent at 16-20 weeks when there is a medical reason anyway is baffling.

That is the 1% of pregnancy that doesn't result in a child by that point.

I know it very well.

Sterge doesn't judge people on what they look like, but on the content of their content.
I checked out some content and it correlated to the choice of username and AV very well

RU486 is not a morning after pill. MAPs prevent eggs from being fertilized and are not abortions. RU486 is an abortion pill, and I'd suggest the same views would apply whether the pregnancy is being terminated surgically or with a pill.

The morning after pill works by delaying or preventing the release of an egg, it doesn't do anything if you've ovulated already.

The egg once ejected can live for six to twelve hours so if that has happened prior to sex you're probably going to shower it with sperm, the morning after pill will hold off ovulation for the five days the sperm live inside her.

The morning after pill doesn't stop a pregnancy already underway.

RU486 is an abortion, no different to a surgical termination.

Yeah, I got my pills mixed up. All I really know are the male contraceptives so thanks for the info you two. Happy to stand corrected:thumbsu:
