Law- Red

Engineering- Purple

Um, who cares?

What is the importance of this?

LOL if you must know my little sister graduates from UNI next Saturday and she doesnt know what to wear.

We're trying to work out what colours she wears on her hood.

It got me thinking of academic colours in general, so I thought Id ask you lot because quite a few seem to be University educated.

Does her uni have a graduations office? I know Curtin does. I have no idea of the system used to determine which schools use which colours but that is the place to go to get the right gear.

University is a joke

Graduating is a joke.

Got two bits of paper from ANU on the one day (Law and Economics). Danced on the stage for the second one.

Afterwards, went to the Uni Bar with bad folk and my mum. Rolled huge reefers on my washboard hat out on the balcony. Got my mum stoned.

Very funny day.

If it's in the West, I'd wear Freo colours - kinda look like graduating colours.

Load of crap IMHO.

Reverts to English class system before degrees meant nothing.

So that's one of the ways howard keeps unemployment figures low, he sends then all to Uni, so they get austudy instead of the dole, OK I understand now. :p

He's not doing a very good job of it by allowing Unis to price themselves out of the market.

I didnt realise that Universities have an unspoken colour-code which they all follow like chip companies (DAMN YOU PRINGELS)

But at Monash the faculty of IT is purple.

Come on Carly, why are you so excited you are posting nuffy threads like this;)

Funny how the majority of posters putting down a degree are the ones without any.
I have 3 and I worked ferking hard to get them and they pay me a mighty fine salary

Carly,

UTAS organise everything. The robes etc are pre-booked. All your sister has to do is turn up before the ceremony and the stuff is waiting for her - I think the cost is about $85 plus a refundable deposit. I'm graduating myself in 2 weeks, it's been a long slog.

Exactly Muzza, exactly :thumbsu:

Its all about showing you can stick at something for long enough and meet the requirements set out.

Its not the be all to end all but its an huge achievement none the less.

BTW Muzz, what degrees do you have?

I have one:

Batchelor of Arts majoring in Political Science (International Relations) and Journalism and Media Studies (Hons)

Wouldn't have minded doing an MBA or getting some kind of commerce or business degree.

One day Im going to wake up and Im not going to want to be a political hack anymore. A girl needs options in her life I tell you..........

;)

On the other hand, there are days when I could be a stay at home Mum.

Thanks buddy!

Congratulations, what do you graduate with? :p :thumbsu:
