That was the original plan Jorgo, but I'm not too sure its going ahead. At least not at Yeronga.
Aye I tweeted my old club to ask if this NEAFL practice day was still going ahead... this is what I got back...

Thanks Brownie. I reckon the most likely scenario for the inter Academy matches would be to host one each.
I'll try & find out which one where.
Game 1 Sat 16/3 at 1.00pm at Yeronga
Game 2 Sun 24/3 at 1.00pm at labrador
The game tomorrow saturday at Coorparoo is at 11.15am against Redlands (4 x 20min quarters) with most academy players 17yr olds
About 10 players from Lions academy (18 yr olds) are lining up for the Lions reserves to be played after the above 11.15 game.

Knightmare has already started putting down player info for his 2013 phantom.

Always makes for great reading.

Here is his write up.

Isaac Conway (Brisbane - QLD – Mid)
Height: 183cm, Weight: 82kg, DOB: 29/05/1995
Recruited from:
Style:
Player comparison: Brock McLean
Range: 1st – 3rd round
Profile: Strong bodied inside midfielder with real size on his frame. Real stoppage specialist and will win those clearances consistently. Big inside ball winner. Tackling game strong. Has a strong two way game and can play a shutdown role when required. Endurance good but pace below average. As is the case with many of these strong bodied inside midfielders he lacks any outside game. Skills can improve with his footskills in particular below average.

*Potentially high level AFL footballers
17. Isaac Conway (QLD – Mid- Brisbane)
22. Cain Tickner (QLD – KPP - Brisbane)

*Best of the rest*
47. Sam Gribble (QLD – Mid - Brisbane)

Be interesting to see how it changes over the year. Cheers to Knightmare for this

thoselionslads can you tell me anything about Wiley Buzza? Saw him discussed on the Suns board. Apparently fairly new to the game, originally from Darling Downs but he recently moved to Mt Gravatt?

He hasn't been signed to the academy yet but apparently a hell of a prospect. Epic name too!

He would be a commentators dream in close games. Right on the buzzer and all that.

Playing 18's at Mt Gravatt.

Handy size, maybe around 190ish, solid enough too. I haven't seen him play yet but have heard good things. I can tell you more after watching this weekend.

As whatboutbob pointed out to me, 17 are from the Lions Academy and 9 from the Suns. When you add in the injured players, it is 20 and 10.

The Suns do have Lachlan Weller though who is pretty highly rated.

With all this talent coming through how are we going to fit them in to our Premiership side?:D

I know this kid well, exceptional athlete but very raw in terms of footy smarts. He played for the Lockyer Valley Demons but has moved to Mt Gravatt this season as the Darling Downs Crows were denied entry to Div 1 U18. He's probably 190cm and around 80kg at present but can roost a ball 50m easy and just covers the ground so well. Has a hairstyle you won't miss, I've been pushing his case up on the Downs for a bit now, his father contacted me about playing for our local side in Toowoomba, the South Toowoomba Bombers, I told him not to waste his time and go directly to Brisbane where he will get the skills he needs. Definitely one to watch. Another from up here playing at Mt Gravatt to watch is a kid called Tom Wainwright, a pure footballer who is just a ball magnet. Not in the Academy but should be, he's got it.

hey reardo. wiley is 195cm now. he also just turned 17 a couple of weeks ago. 80kg may be 20% too light also. he is a giant!
