Not at all.

They've all left our club to play QAFLW.

If you get a chance, watch a game. Aiyana Prtichard is something very special.

Her first season last year, never played before. Joined to play with friends, won the u17 D1 League Best & Fairest in a canter while still an u15 player.

Gone from strength to strength. I always consider how a kid must be rated or how they are going by how many managers ring for an intro. More have rung me about her than any player in 10 years other than Jaspa Fletcher. She's an absolute natural and a great kid.

The other one to watch, not from our club and 2027 draft is Murray (sister of Caelan) - she is elite.

Haven't seen Pritchard, will keep an eye out.

Agree Murray looks something special.

As a former teacher of Edie Fraser, I’m stoked for her.

U16 boys laid the smack down on the GC academy today. On the GC to boot.

I noted in the girls U18s that QLD play as a standalone team and not as part of the Allies. Given the continued growth in quality and numbers coming out of the Lions and Suns Academies is there a chance that also happens on the boys side?
Not for a long time yet.

The problem would be the drop off in talent from the top QLD kids who are in draft contention, to the rest of the team.

There's already been a fair bit of discussion that this draft looks rather shallow. Both in terms of the top end talent and the depth of the talent pool, and this down to a weak Vic cohort this year.

Only got 3 x 17 year olds which is a nice change at least. Not sure why you'd bring in a 17 year old to be part of it, only to not select them though.

Have heard some horrific stories about the final cut.

"If your names not on the board, leave the room and you can go home"

I find it hard to believe that could be true, but I've seen how they operate for 10+ years now, so nothing would surprise.

All three U15 AAs in, as expected. Ellemor, Hutchings, Pearson, Salvana and Wolbers (at least) are all underagers who made the Queensland carnival U15s last month.

I don't think Hutchings is a bottom ager, but he is the best player in that squad. He is a seriously good footballer.

Cash Kinnear is a talent, son of Collingwood KPP from the late 90's, Ben Kinnear. Don't think he qualifies as F/S

Sam Dobbie is one to keep an eye on. He's big and tall, not Boothey size - but pretty big, and he moves like a small bloke and is very mobile. Kicking is a bit of an issue, but he is good in the air.

Boothey is 200+ cm and has a beautiful left foot kicking action and is super clean below his knees, but still has work to do with his overhead marking - if he got that right he would be unstoppable with his size and skill.

Xavier Sulvana is a mature bodied 15 year old who has been playing QAFL Senior footy at Coorparoo. From what I have seen thats probably a reflection of Coorparoo list rather than any extreme talent - but he is definitely worth a look. He is good in tight, but haven't seen much of him.

Addison Stolz is an excitement machine, should have been AA u15 last year - can play anywhere, has speed, agility and while his kicking style is a bit awkward, he can find the goals and hit targets. Possibly out of all these kids, has the most upside - has natural flair and can break lines. Not sure of his ancestry, but he plays with Tiwi Island type flair.

Lachlan Ellen is an athletic specimen, he is a bit like Stolz with his speed and agility (but is about 6'3") - but he is a genuine helicopter operator with his kicking. Unless someone can put some time into that with him, he has a low ceiling.

Jackson Bridge is one to keep an eye on. Younger brother of Allies rep Harrison, but a completely different player. Very very good in the air, but his kicking is poor. Not sure what his best position is, but he is quite tall (i'd guess 190cm+) and can play at either end, and at a pinch he could be a good midfielder or play on the wing. Big difference to his brother, is that he will put his head over it and win contested footy.

Jackson Noble I think was picked last year as an underager and goes ok, along with Noah Rafter who has huge wraps on him - but I've never understood why. He is definitely a good accumulator of the footy but doesn't appear to have any standout qualities and appears to be a great character.

3 x overagers I think are Jones, Mackay and Benton.

Jones is a mystery one, his parents must know the selectors. Mackay is a good kid from Noosa who I think was injured last year - plays a bit like Jared Moss if you have followed the u18s. Benton is a strange inclusion. He would be 17 already, unaware of any injuries (appears to have been playing club footy continuously without interruption) and while he is definitely good enough for this side, it doesn't make much sense other than perhaps they think they need a big bodied mid so support the younger blokes? He is definitely a talented kid, but this is an u16 side.

my apologies, I was confusing the 2.

He is a Lions bottom ager, not a state bottom ager.

He was in the state side last year and was one of their best, as a 14 year old.

At 15, imo he is the best player in the Lions u16s
