I actually feel the same, really what's the point. Even when we do finally get rid of Trigg, whose next... Smart - how uninspiring. We will still have the same board, the same Phil Harper, the same coaches etc etc.

It's a hopeless feeling being a Crows supporter over the last few year. At least the other basket cases get the high draft picks.
We need to clean out, bottom out, and pick up 2-3 years of top picks. If that means trading Talia as well then I'm up for it. He was very average today. I'm convinced we need a more elite midfield, elite half forwards and another key forward and an elite ruck man. We need a top 4 pick this year, plus trade Talia for a top ten pick. Pick up Frawley as a free agent and have Hartigan, Siggins, L.Thompson and co take up the slack.

That's another worry.. We need outside eyes, freshness and a new direction..
Dawn a new era ffs..

we just look shoddy when we play. something not right down at crow land. maybe when we have big tex back things will change. it would be good having a decent target up forward.

Brand new oval, ridiculed all summer, Dean Bailey - there was a fair bit for these guys to play for. Really was a pathetic effort when you look at it in context.

Plenty of our supporters accept mediocrity, its called being a true supporter apparently.

I was at the game and I saw a team that was turned on and desperate to win the ball.

I saw another team that made poor decisions, did not run in the first quarter let alone for the whole match and was not hungry to win.

Sando's performance in getting the team ready for the first three rounds was a fail.

These players need to go at the end of the year.

delisted- janesch porplyzia martin mckernan graham L.thompson
retired- Rutten, Scott thompson
free agency or delisted- david mackay

However, it's all good as we have some easy beats coming up.

We have Sydney next week that should be a loss but then we can beat up on the Saints, Giants, Western Bulldogs and then the Dees and then at the bye turn at 4 and 3 with little worry.

Yes, we are a flat track bully.

Agreed, Thommo will get 50 touches Porps will kick 5 goals and everyone will be happy again. We are PATHETIC.

I notice Jenny is strangly quiet. While i dont know her personally and dont want to attack her per se, but its supporters like her who need to also accept some of the blame for this. Protecting those who have put us where we are today. Even putting the Tippett saga to the side, as well as the Rendell one, and calling the supporters "pathetic", our clubs decline has been jaw dropping. We have gone from been the leader and record breaker with membership numbers to been midline now, even having Port surpassing us nearly. We were also considered one of the financial powerhouses of the AFL, yet here we are with terrible income figures around half the amount as the league leaders. We have been left behind under the watch of Trigg and Chapman. We are mediocre at best now.

Port might pass us in membership which would be a huge kick in the ass but how many of those members have 11 game membership which is the most important figure.
collingwood have like 80k membets but only 45 to 50k 11 game members. Which are the ones who turn up to each home game.

You are on the mark there.
You could even add Reilly to that list & probably a couple more. (Pods, Petrenko & Johnston)
Shows how poor our list is really. It doesn't give you much confidence for the future does it.
I guess thats what happens when you miss the draft picks we have in the last couple of years

Can I just make a point about the draft picks - it's bad yes, but it's not the cause of today. Today's problems can be traced back to 2009/10.

The loss of picks will bite in the future

Thread title - spot on.

We need to drop a number of players and recruit some serious foot speed and agility - cut and dried. And an end to the constant fumbles. Players that work hard that are just "good contributors" need to pack their bags. Being solid and reliable just isn't good enough at this level. We need players with serious toe that can take the game on. At the moment we've got Dangermouse, Betts, Talia, and Tex....and to an extent, the Sloane Ranger. But not much else. All teams cough up turnovers, but we just cannot win the ball back with chase and tackle. End of story.

Except for Talia, our Key Posts were beyond horrendous. And Porpoise needs to retire....yesterday.
