It couldn't hurt to trial it, he's very aggressive and would atleast be able to bring the ball to ground for our small forwards/mids. Probably prefer Hartlett to invest for the future but yeah, I guess I am for it.

Wake up to yourself mate Ackland is not an AFL CHF fwd. I can just imagine his oppnent say J Bowden running off him all night and accumulating 30+ stats. What makes people think that finding a CHF is as easy as plucking a name of our list and saying let splay him at CHF he will give a contest blah blah blah. Not that easy that's why they r hard to find.
People get a grip Ackland is not a CHF is not worth a trial and will not be considered.....
This really is a ridiculous notion to even suggest Ackland could play CHF, really mkaes me question some posters football knowledge !!!!

Hartlett!!!!!!!!

Well throw your membership away because if a Carlton listed player kicks 15 goals in 2 weeks in the seconds and our obvious deficincy ATM is CHF then it is a very strong chance that bloke is going to get a run.

Absolute BS... How do you see Ackland helping our FWd structure other than his opponer running off him all day and picking up 30 possies. Our obvious defeciency wasn't at CHF numbskull it was in the ruck wherer Hille tore us a new one adn gave Essendon on ballers an absolute arm chair ride.

How the hell to you suppose Ackland is capable of playing CHF and helping what you consider is an obvious defecieny at CHF ?????

Have you actually played the game mate ????

Playing Ackland at CHF??? this makes no sense at all. Especially when the CHB will be Bowden. I hope we will be content to letting Bowden rack up 40 possessions then?

If he was going to play it would surely be in a role a bit similar to Ottens, out of the Goal Square.

LOL as much as I don't rate him, he does deserve a call up. The guys kicked 15 goals in 2 weeks for goodness sake. If he didn't get selected as a forward NOT A RUCKMAN (Pure DUD in the RUCK) for seniors next week would be a major snubbing by the selection committee.

But personally I'd rather see Hartlett and Edwards forward their development as I don't see the big Terminator (aka Hackland) having a future with the Carlton Football Club. But based on performance he does deserve a call up. Good work Cain.:thumbsu:

What about Saddington who has been BOG in the 2's for at least 4 games this year, where is his turn?

The point is the Match Committee are only going to give opportunities to younger players, thats the result of a youth policy.

Can't believe i'm saying this but i wouldn't be against bringing him in and putting him in the goal square. He's been in good form in the Ants. Just don't put him anywhere near the ruck (Apart from maybe when it's within the forward 50). He may suprise and provides another big target.

I really want to see Hartlett at CHF, i rate him highly.

Why don't we just hand the Tigers a win by bringing another dud into the side. I don't care if kicked 20 goals in a game in the reserves, he has no heart and he has proved he has no heart. Time for carrying the shit has gone it about time some of our deserving kids got in ahead, if we are going to develop further we cant afford to play hacks in this team who wont be there end of the year it's simple.

Ye good point there BlueJudd but Saddington is a backman, we havn't had any MAJOR problems down back (we've had injuries to Bower, Bannister, Jamo, Waite suspended) but we've always had those positions covered in my opinion, I don't see where Saddington can just slot in especially with Browne and Armfield playing well. As for Ackland we have a major deficiency in the forward line and with Ackland kicking 2 bags in 2 weeks, don't you think Ratts has probably asked for Cain to play forward? (that I'm unsure). I'm not saying he will be selected but he would be a front runner to come in based on his performance.

I wasn't suggesting Saddo get picked too, but what I was suggesting was that you could not pick Cain over Sadd, due to a couple of good weeks.

Austin and Hartlett as still ahead of Cain for selection surely. But hey if Cain gets selected and helps us beat Richmond then good on him and the MC. As long as he is a blue I won't join in this public bashing of him.

Kudos where kudos is due, he has had a great couple of weeks so good on him.

Absolutely agree :thumbsu:

Would have though Ackland was forward to give more ruck time to Hampson and the other Irish bloke.

Hampson in - Kruezer to CHF, seemed to work the previous few weeks.

Austin, Anderson - In

Setanta, Wiggins, Grigg - possible outs.

Grigg definitely should not of played yesterday, really didn't look fit.

Kreuz needs a rest, he did struggle a bit yesterday.

I would bring in Phiff for sure, surely he has paid his time in the two's. I also think Austin should be brought in.

Ins Austin Hampson, Phif
Outs. Grigg, Russell, Kreuz

Good. We don't need "supporters" like you.

Either support the club or ____ off. And if you get rid of your membership, don't bother signing up next year. Or the year after, for that matter.

Gee we are touchy today aren't we!

I have ties with the footy club that some of you would only dream of........and for what it's worth the line was a throw-away line in jest to not wanting Ackland in the team.

But some of you are a little wound up to realise it.

Ackland is not the answer going forward. Full stop!

Where we went wrong on the weekend was dropping Hampson, not allowing Kreuzer to play more forward.

Anyway I will go and leave all you experts alone for now!

Cheers

I'm a big believer in promoting blokes based on their performances, but as has been posted above, we're still in development mode and because of that I think it should be big Adam "Glass Hammies" Hartlett given a run at CHF.

I think the MC will have to do something surely - it breaks your heart when your star forward has a dominant day and bags 7 and you still lose.

Well he was able to win a coleman when we finished last. I think this just shows how good this guy is.

All this talk about not giving him what he wants with this contract, it's bull.....give him what he wants he is the best thing going around.

WHAT???? "hes very agressive" are you taking the piss mate? The moment we bring Shitland in, is the moment we give 4 points away. Play Hertlett - simple.

If not i would rather play - Kruz, Hampson,Cloke through there.

maybe "the duke" - big target, although fremantle might not clear him.

who?

Well Ackland has been kicking goals this year and this bag along with us being aweful may see him in, but I doubt it. If he was in he has earn't it but I think he is too slow for AFL. Only one way to know I guess.
