I recall a female politician saying to male colleague something like - how dare you say you can represent a woman in parliament better than me. As if an urban dwelling working professional is going to represent a rural farmer better than another farmer would, simply on the basis of sex.

Thier argument is, let’s forget how we got here , let’s forget that Goodes actions led to the booing starting (from hawks supporters) let’s forget that Goodes inflamed the issue by stating he didn’t know why Hawks supporters were booing him, let’s forget that he inflamed the situation by aggressively running towards Carlton supporters that hadn’t booed him... and then he states that he wants them to “bring it on” ..... and then the booing gets worse??? As I understand it he politely declined the invite earlier this year and asked there be no publicity about it all. He just quietly wanted to move on and did not consider it newsworthy. But there you go.

The thing I found funniest about the whole media circus (the reality vs the media myth) was how quiet and muted the Goodes-booing was as the 2015 season progressed. Aside from the game at Subiaco vs West Coast, the booing came from a small minority of people. It was nothing like the full-on booing which players are sometimes subjected to.. (e.g. Dangerfield vs Port)

Commentators were literally going quiet when Goodes got the ball and straining to hear whether anyone was defying the AFL decree to "stop the booing"

I watched that documentary and in the game at Etihad vs St Kilda, Goodes took a mark and was lining up a set shot for goal when a handful of Saints fans booed him. Maybe 40 or 50 people??? You could hear a pin drop... Certainly WAY LESS than the usual 10,000 St Kilda maniacs who boo an opposition player as they line up for goal.

But this was further evidence of him being "booed out of the game". Please.
