Adam Heuskes retires

I cant believe Adam Hesukes retired.
Hes 24 years old and he had so much potential. The Lions will be spewing over that.
Can someone tell me why?

Well, I have my doubts in why he has retired. Remember that Scotland Yard business earlier this year. I think it has got something to do with that. It's a bit suspicious aint it. Anyway, Lions will win the flag regardless and we don't need him to do so.

Did he actually retire or did he just quit the Brisbane Lions? I live in Brisbane and on the news up here, they just said that he has quit the Brisbane Lions footy team not that he actually retired.

Heuskes having a drink with a Lions supporter on Friday night last week remarked:

I don't know how much longer I can do this. Nobody wants me here anymore, the ******* overpaid officials and now my team-mates.

Who would want to stay under circumstances like that??

Then again there is they scarsley veiled attack on Matthews in his radio interview this arvo. Mind you - he is the only one to do it publicly so far - tho a large number of players have mentioned their problems with the coach to supporters.

And of course - that UK issue - I have been led to believe that he is involved - but that there are alot of issues surrounding the whole situation - remember - it takes 2 to tango!

Some of us don't cope with probs in our lives - try coping with the same plus more in public role!!! I just hope the club aren't covering up an issue with a "retirement" excuse!

I heard he gave it up because he lost the joy out of playing footy. You never know - he might pursue a career as a clown!!

Adam Hesukes was a good player - no doubt about that, he was an All-Australian and he could of had another 5 years plus to play AFL. On the news it said he wanted to return to Adelaide for 'personal reasons' and that he was sorry if the Brisbane Lions or anyone else was upset of his decision and that It's something that he wants to do for himself. (Eat more food?)

I also have heard from a specific player ( not Heuskas ), that there are major problems at the club.That Heuskas is not alone with problems with the coach. I remember that at training at Coorparoo earlier in the season, Matthews lost his lolly at Heuskas, I was there shaking my head. He was told to do something, he did it , then got shouted at for a full 10 minutes, it was embarrassing. he did nothing wrong.I just hope that they sign up Bradshaw, as in the Sunday Mail months ago, Matthews said he wasn't that good a player. Matthews does seem to publically chastise his players.The other player I hope thye keep is Molloy, and Beau, I remember him in tears after a particular incident.
I hope the club actually looks at the coach. Not sweep it under the carpet.
For gods sake Heuskas is a damn good player.He may want to retire at the end of the season. From what I have heard he was told to go, point blank, get out.If thats true, then the Lions have a major problem.
How unsettling must this be to the whole team. Then they have been fragmented all year.
