Darealrath has a good point. It may be that this whole business is an attempt to see how much we can squeese out of the PSD and to sort out the balance in McPhee's favour. Perhaps he has been asked to wait and is doing so for the club, knowing what sort of contract he will get over three years. The only detail to be worked out is how that is distributed.

And this is why the rumours of his 'disenchantment' are buzzing around. There is some conjecture over McPhee's popularity with the playing group. However, it's so easy to label a player who hasn't re-signed at this time of year with the PSD coming up and tragics ready to digest any footy scrap going around.

Well, noone knows either way..yet one cant help but be suspicious at this stage when virtually the entire list has signed on except for one or two high profile players. One way or the other, we're all tragics when it comes to football and I defy any diehard fan who says theyre not...

Does the deal need to be finalised before 31 October - when the playing list is submitted to the AFL? If so this is cutting it pretty fine.

I guess you guys are lucky that Caroline Wilson doesn't have as much of a hard-on for Essendon as she does for us, otherwise she'd be writing all sorts of rumours. That woman doesn't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Agree but McPhee, Lee and Johns should have been signed before Bolton and Pev, If deals couldnt be done for bolton or pev throw them in the PSD cause no-one else wanted them, different story with 2 vital backman and a could be anything forward.

Lee and Johns are both interstate boys, chances are (like Nash) they are away from Melbourne, back home and haven't put pen to paper.

It's extremely likely that terms have been agreed to but the deal hasn't been signed off on and hence no news has been released.

I wouldn't be too concerned.

I would be very, very disappointed if we were to simply let him go for free. However he won't be going anywhere but the sooner they sign him up the better.

In percentage terms, where do you guys think this is at?

60/40 - Essendon
70/30 - Essendon

IMO, he's likely to stay at Essendon

Thoughts??

He is likely to stay at essendon. I would say it might be closer to 60/40 however.

McPhee had an absolute dog of a season this year.
