didn't the suns fly an moved his two brothers up there to try an make him stay? but they got home sick an moved this year?

suns will let him go for a 2nd an Graham type who is no spud. tight family they did what they could

He has battled homesickness since we took him as a rookie.

Moved his cousin Zak up last year (played between Southport & Suns ressies). But he went back to Melb at seasons end.

His best mate Henry Schade was then picked up by the Pies.

We moved his brother Muhammad up this year - again played between Southport & Suns ressies. But he pulled the pin himself with homesickness mid season.

Then his other good mate Brooksby was delisted.

Extremely family orientated bloke which isn't a bad thing just makes life difficult to live interstate.

I was told last weekend at the QAFL GF by a Suns staffer that the Blues were his preference if they tabled a competitive offer and they could secure the trade.

But maybe the Dons have more cash to splash with the Blues chasing half of GWS?

Will take an early 2nd or a decent best 22 player in my opinion.

He also has a really good relationship with Michael Hartley from their 2 years at Coburg together which could come into it as well.

Doubt you get an early second, and would that be a best 22 player at your club or the club they previously played for?

Fair assessment. We wouldn't have any problems with the money side. Not sure we could satisfy a trade though. We don't have a 2nd this year and would be reluctant to give up next year's. As it stands, we may have to consider using next year's in a potential Kennedy/Smith trade. Can't think of any best 22 players we'd be willing to part with either. I'm sure SOS will exhaust all options though if he thinks he's a good target (which I do personally, but our back line is pretty full).

Given the other pies Essendon is involved in, I could see us offering this deal:

Out: Saad, #19
In: #11, #46

On points that's the equivalent of a pick between #26 and #27. In a shallower draft #46 might be seen as lower than normal value, but getting from #19 to #11 might be more valuable than normal value.

That would allow us to trade #19 in another trade.

I reckon we'd offer pick 27 (if we get it from Adelaide) or our 2018 2nd rounder.

Saad?? Admittedly havent seen enough of this bloke but from what I have seen he doesnt appear to be a priority for the Blues. The 1 spot on the park we have loads of options is the 1/2 back flank. Simpson (admittedly old), Docherty, Williamson, Byrne all options. Whilst not a favourite of mine, Smedts has even had a run through there this season as well as Boekhurst and even MacReadie. If we end up with a 2nd round pick I would rather keep it and use it on a kid in the draft. We have bigger problems in the midfield and forward line before we start offloading picks for players we don't need

saad under a good coach bolts into AA thoughts. he is better then Byrne an offers loads of run which we need to break zones an games wide open.

worth next years 2nd easy. with better ball movement the team looks better

He needs to be within a 5km radius of Coburg.

Pretty sure that means it's only Carlton or Essendon.
Yeah but he hates the Northern Blues with a passion and doesn't want to be tarnished by being at a club associated with it :p. Means it's Essendon :D
