Seems 9 and fairfax spent a year trying to get this story as much meat as possible, and try implicate Dan. Proof will be in the pudding if it is in fact successful.

This helps Dan and the Socialist Left faction more than anything else, in fact I'd be shocked if they didn't brief against Somyurek and the right to the press. 9, Murdoch and co have probably realised, which is why they are so desperately trying to muddy the waters.

Likewise, it was Dan who immediately referred the matter to IBAC, likely because it helps clean out some of the crooks.

Somyurek has been chasing Dan's head for a long time, likewise, it's the smaller conservative faction of Vic Labor that have been the egregious party with regards to branch stacking, because they lack both members and support.

Branch stacking in one form or another will probably always exist in Australian politics, but the reason it is such a massive problem for Labor in particular is their show-and-tell voting system that empowers the numbers men

There are two games in play here, not just internal ALP power struggles, but the corruption admitted by Anthony Byrne & how wide spread it is nationally, that will play out leading to the Fed election.

Somy I very entertaining at IBAC and name dropping Marles, Conroy, Andrews….I find it odd that Kairouz is too ill to be questioned publicly but has not resigned from parliament. All her underlings have been put through the wringer but she escapes. Will we be able to read her transcripts?
