Carlton would have to hand over Pick 20 & Brisbane's 2nd rounder for him.

He is contracted.

Don't know why he'd be looking to leave, Cam McCarthy goes and I reckon he gets a spot. Blues should be after James Stewart.

Like hell. On current form a top ten pick for Henderson is way overs. Henders prob worth around pick 12-23.

A gamble for Geelong to send a 2016 1st for Henders unless something comes back their way or they truly believe they will be a top four side next year.

They are not bringing in Danger for shits n giggles. If you're gonna bring in a superstar, you need to go the whole hog and bring in top quality support staff too.

Unlike we did/didn't with Juddy.

I truly believe if Geelong DIDN'T get Danger, they also wouldn't bother with Hendo.

But they are gonna have a 5 to 6 year crack with their elite 26yo's and under new squad.

Pretty sure Stewart was getting just as many games as Tomlinson, if not more.
So there wouldn't be any guarantees as he'll be competing with Cameron, Patton, Stewart and a few others.

At Carlton at least he's basically guaranteed 22 games next year!

2016 first round pick we receive from Geelong for Henderson. Lock it in.

Seems a bit much, especially if Geelong don't do as well next year as planned, that could be a top 12 pick.

He may be worth that, but just going by the trend of players leaving for less than their perceived value or at least less than where they were originally taken in the draft if the player is only a few years into their career (e.g. Brisbane's go home 5).

Certainly guaranteed not to be over 22 games tho...

Theres already a thread on this.

Contracted for another 2 years like McCarthy. Will take a lot more than picks in the 20's. Injuries are the only thing holding him back. Is a defender IMO, doesnt kick well enough to be a fwd.

Can't see him leaving. He hasn't given any indication he wants out, he is best 22 (especially if McCarthy leaves), and he is contracted.

No way that would get it done IMO.
I reckon that would get it done. That's the equivalent points as a pick around 8 or 9 I think and with the 20% discount, GWS could potentially get someone like Kennedy with a pick like that. If GWS get Collingwood's pick 7 in the Treloar trade and already have pick 8 and then get a bunch of picks for the likes of Tomlinson, Plowman and co. they could have so many points that they could use pick 7 as a "live pick" and then get Hopper, Kennedy and co. with 8 and all those later picks.

They could effectively walk away with 3 of the top 8 or so, just for a change.

GWS are already getting plenty of picks and points from their other trades this year so I doubt they would give up a gun player like Tomlinson just for the points value.

If clubs bid on those players before the Giants picks then the Giants have to use those immediate picks, they can't choose to keep pick 7 and then give up the later picks instead. They'd get Hopper and Kennedy and then have a couple of 20s picks in a shallow draft.

Fair enough. Could still work for them if they were able to trade up to say pick 3 though.

Heh. They could trade up to pick 3 and then use it to bid on Mills. That'd be funny.
I expect we'll be very open to trading pick 5 (and at least 24) for two of their first rounders and then it would just be a matter of them working a deal to trade up from pick 5 to pick 3. Then hope Carlton and Brisbane don't bid on Hopper. I'm sure they'd have an understanding with Carlton after all the deals they'll be doing.
