I never said we were. Just responding to the assertation that you somehow had a less experienced team on the park than we did on the day. Averaging out games played doesn't actually tell the whole story, hence the reason I put the games played breakdown up. It's good that you conveniently ignored the fact that we had 12 players on the ground with less than 50 games experience and covered it with the old average games BS. Also didn't help on the day that our most experienced defender in Toovey went down injured in the first.
Regardless though, this is a thread about Adam Treloar and his wonderful decision to become a Collingwood player. Not a pissing contest for bitter Richmond supporters to pretend they're a destination club in.
I didn't assert anything other than we were younger than you on the day. We were out of form, without one of our best players, gave you a five-goal head start, nearly choked and still won. Then the next meeting we destroyed you.
But you're right. This thread is about why Treloar would be mad to go to Collingwood and only will if you pay him a ridiculous amount.
Broomhead, adams, Grundy, crisp, Maynard, Elliott, langdon, marsh. This is while two top 10 picks haven't had a proper run at it also.
Broomhead - Neat player but done little at AFL level.
Adams - Poor man's Anthony Miles. Turnover merchant.
Grundy - Good young ruck. So was Josh Fraser.
Crisp - Decent player
Maynard - Meh.
Elliott - Gun. But 23 is youth now? So can we count Dustin Martin? He only just turned 24?
Langdon - Meh.
Marsh - No good.
So, 23 and under is the criteria?
Miles, Batchelor, Conca, Ellis, Ellis, Griffiths, Lennon, Lambert, McIntosh, McBean, Vlastuin, Menadue and several others developing nicely in the twos.
And we don't have list-cloggers like Jesse White, Young, Dwyer, Goldsack, Karnezis, Armstrong, Oxley, Sinclair and Toovey. Our best player will not be 32 before next season.
If I were Treloar assessing which team suits me best, I'd look at team structure. We have established but still young key position players. You have Cloke on the decline and Nathan Brown, who is decent but no star. Frost is a spud. Marsh is worse. Moore is a talent but a long way from holding down a key post. Collingwood's key position stocks are wafer-thin. That should be your priority.
