Straight swap of Motlop for treloar will get the deal done if Motlop wants out.
Could be a fantastic win win scenario, better than anything Collingwood could offer
Might want to take off your blue hoops when describing that deal as a win/win. Treloar is a much better player than Motlop.

Reckon GWS will be wanting picks with the academy players coming through
GWS don't need players, they have seven or eight first rounders playing NEAFL every week! They certainly don't need mid rangers.

In a trade situation they will only take top liners, like a Carlisle. For Treloar it would need to be a top five and a low 20s pick at the minimum, a sort of Dayne Beams trade. That therefore limits who they would trade with and those teams are unlikely to suit Treloar. If a Collingwood wanted Treloar, they will need to do some other trade outs first to get the necessary mix of picks to satisfy GWS.

GWS do need a lot of points to pick up their three best academy players so picks would interest them most.

Jesus.. we are hoping Witts and a 1st rounder gets it done but I fully expect them to want either steak knives or a swap of later rounds as well

You aint getting the youngest (by a large margin) top 12 possession accumulator in the league for Notlop

I heard he was interested in a code switch to the Central Coast Mariners or the NQ Cowboys.
spot on.
i'm guessing you saw that footage of him practising corners and free kicks with tony popovic at toongabbie primary school's astroturf half pitch?
gave me chills. going to be a scary prospect :thumbsu:

They have enough picks there for academy players as it is.

They would probably be happy with Carlisle IMO (with some steak knives) but Treloar has got to agree to go to Essendon...

I could be wrong just thought they need to draft certain amount of players. after academy players would be left with little in terms of picks under new points system. Meaning having very late picks. But agree they have plenty of young players.

Even hird said essendon would not be a very attractive team to join. They have always struggled to get quality players. Goddard the only one I can remember this century.

I honestly think Essendon will struggle to attract top line players from other clubs at this point in time. Seriously think the WADA thing has knocked the current crop of players around.
I reckon that's a bit of a myth.

Imo if the player thinks EFC is the best fit for him he'll will come regardless of the Wada could hanging over the club.

I don't really see much of a problem with it, GWS did offer GFC 2 first round picks in last season trade period which geelong knocked back, so they are obviously keen on him.
1 player for 1 instead of using 2 draft picks.
Can't see it happening but I've read worse trades and seen worse happen
