Same can be said about Richmond, as far as I'm aware, only Kevin Bartlett has reported that Adam Treloar has told Richmond that they're his club of choice. Maybe Tony Shaw should just come out and say that he's heard Treloar has told Collingwood the same. Then where would we be?
Stand back and try to be as unbiased as possible.

One club is on its way up and pushing for top 4, the other won't even make finals this year. If you were Treloar where would you rather go?

Add to this that GWS are going to finish higher than the Pies this year, and unlike you are also improving so will more than likely finish higher next year.

Both clubs will offer a similar deal and similar $$. What could possibly make him want to go to you guys more than us? I don't need any unsubstantiated media reports to tell who's more likely to get Treloar - just common sense.

Just because something is available doesn't automatically mean you'll get it. Particularly if the rumour about our 2016 first rounder for Aish is true.
Very true but this is a trade scenario and just as pies fans seem to want to bone us with witts, most giants fans think 2 1st rounders will get it done.

Seriously, you wouldn't be boned with Witts. We're going in circles with that one, and I'm telling you that most Pies fans and the club ideally want to keep Witts. It's a scenario that would only happen if GWS asked for him, he wouldn't be pushed in to it.

Witts' name is only being bandied about because many fans are beginning to realise he is superfluous to our needs. The idea of trading him earlier in the year was horrifying for the majority of supporters, and still is for many, but it's becoming clear that our team functions better with Grundy or Witts alone, rather than together. Couple that with the remarkable development of Cox, and the fact that it seems that Darcy Moore will be a capable second ruck in addition to being a very good forward, and it becomes hard to see where Witts fits in. He is an AFL quality first ruck in his own right, and privately the club has conceded it will be and uphill battle to retain both he and Grundy.
Say what you will about him, but Witts is worth a pick in the teens to a club who desires a ruckman capable of walking in and being competitive at AFL level. Whether or not the Giants need that is up for debate. None of your young rucks have been particularly impressive so far since Mumford went down.
Agreed although if I was GWS I'd be going for someone cheaper like Bellchambers, who doesn't have the upside of Witts but is a handy backup (and better forward).
Witts would be more attractive to a team like Essendon, although I doubt we'd get their first rounder for him.

If you think he is great keep him.

We dont need another player stuck in the magoos.

Pretty much, our list is already relatively young. We brought in a heap of young kids last year and we're losing a bunch of our older players this year.

No brainer for Richmond.
Absolutely the kid is a jet if my club wasn't such a schmozzle I would hope we were all over him.
I wonder if we may get involved for mcbean with an early second rounder?
He is contracted and Richmond will want to keep him but I can't see him getting ahead of Reiwoldt and vickery and I don't think astbury or griffiths have same value.
Mcbean would play every week at Essendon.

We may entertain this idea. But you're bonkers if you think Mcbean has more value than Griff

"i would have thought" ... well go check it yourself instead of posting ifs, buts and maybes.

Yes Parker, Cripps and Wines being inside players have more contested possessions. But their contested possessions are not ahead of Treloars by as much as Treloars effective possessions are on theirs.

Point was it's not about raw numbers like your point with Macrae. It's about the effective ones.
I don't need to check the stats I knew that I was right, I wouldn't have posted if I wasn't sure.
The bottom line is the majority of people would rather have the 6 I listed opposed to Treloar. If you would rather have Treloar than that's fine.
Effective disposals isn't everything, Treloar is better than Fyfe and Dangerfield then? There are so many other Variables to determine how good a player is, to base it on a couple of stats is ludicrous.

I'm not doubting that at this point in time, Richmond are probably the more attractive club to join. That wasn't my point. You said that you were surprised by the confidence of some Collingwood posters that Treloar would still join us. I was simply stating that only because Kevin Bartlett, a Richmond great, has reported that his mail says Treloar told Richmond that they're his club of choice, all of a sudden the whole fan base has just gone "oh, well, KB said it, must be true." I'm not saying it's not true, I'm just saying hold your horses. Damien Barrett has reported Collingwood, KB reports Richmond. It's one guys word against another. He's no more certain to join one club over another. Until it comes from the horses mouth, cool your jets.

We are no good for three years minimum.
Mcbean has more time to work on his body strength and should be just starting to hit his straps by then. Griffiths body may have packed it in in three years time though is a better player now.
Daniher and mcbean would be a nice pair in three years time add Edwards McKenna with 50 games and we start to look okay.

I don't speak for all the drongos that have jumped at KB's comments. But in fairness if Tony Shaw came out and said Treloar was definitely
signing with Collingwood there would be about the same amount of Pies fans jumping up and down about it.

No need to tell me to cool my jets, I'm not going by any unsubstantiated media reports.. just plain logic.

everytime a talented giants player leaves the other 16 clubs (-suns) throw more fuel on the fire and trade first round picks. it is a never ending circle which will eventually leave gws to dominate for a decade or more.

a disgraceful legacy left by the idiots who set up their concessions.

I don't think it is bias to point out Richmond being in a great position. He would complement the Tigers midfield brilliantly. This is the type of player that pushes your team from the bottom half of the 8, up into top 4.

You and your mate are possibly the most difficult people to have a rational conversation with on this board. Not sure why it's so hard for you to understand that keeping Witts is a good outcome for us.

As I said, it's only a trade that would happen if GWS requested it. The club wants to keep him and have gone as far as publicly saying he won't be put forward as trade bait.

Ha! Yeah ok. Make psd threats like a child. You sound like a 12 year old.
If you're giving your first rounder to Brisbane for Aish as you suggested, do you really think that we'll deal with you? Treloar is worth this years first and second picks and next years first.

You really think we'll take your second rounder and a list clogger for Treloar?

We make more of a statement by sending him to the PSD and getting nothing for him than that outcome you alluded to.
