It's not a troll at all, just a question prompted by the article you linked to. Don't be so sensitive. The GIANTS are decades away from standing on their own two feet, surely you understand that?

Plenty of things he could of said.
So in your opinion it would have been perfectly acceptable for him to comment in any manner (positive or negative) when asked that question? Like I said I don't want to get too far into the "he's staying, no he's leaving" stuff, but I think it would be naive to think that he could have made any comment other than a positive one in that circumstance.

He could have been less definate or not as confidant. Many coachs and players have been more open in their answers

If you read my posts i have hope but believe that he is 80% gone.

If that's how you see those comments all power to you then.

I may not have posted on the topic extensively, but I've definitely tracked it...

We still have Scharenberg and Freeman from 2013 to play. And taken into account the lower draft picks that we have turned into promising players, trading some high picks for proven talent is not so bad for us as you make it :) And any Richmond that says that those 2 picks means nothing, is delusional. You are not GWS that has draft picks in spades, you need them just as much as we do.
We aren't in the same rebuilding phase as the pies. Hard work has been done and we are now enjoying the fruits of good recruiting of the right kids. Something we haven't done so well in the past along with most clubs but we are finally on the right path.

Of course losing first rnd draft selections isn't ideal but it's a calculated measure required to top up our talent while our youth presses claims for a spot. Whilst you hold out hope on some injury prone kids we have the joint VFL leading goal kicker cooling his heels in the VFL and numerous kids with much upside doing same. Treloar is the cream that fills a spot for the next 6+ years and if my info is correct he is not the only cream coming to the Tigers next month from GWS/GC. Not sure the pies are in the same boat but you probably hope so. Time will tell I guess but the eight will get tighter next year with GWS & GC kids evolving further.

Best of luck as I enjoy our rivalry and look forward to some competitive contests in years to come :thumbsu:

It is not hope, it is reality. We have to get AFL games into them and there are only so many rookies you can fit in on a matchday. So yes we might lose a higher pick but we still got those 2 2013 picks that have to play with a decent preseason. BTW not injury prone, you are mistaken with Reid.
No doubt you will be upbeat about your youth, so are we. We are in the same boat; good war chest , attractive credentials for any Vic bound player, some overlap in list requirements and age profile.
GWS are on the road to success, GC on the road to Brisbane. Doggies would be interesting too btw.
PS, nice to see a normal reaction instead of the usual pissing contest that one often get.

I have to ask the obvious question here. What was he supposed to say? Assuming of course he was asked directly about AT.

Imagine how this would have gone down:

LC: Yeah we've been working to get his manager to sit down for talks for the best part of 4 months, but aren't making any headway so at this stage we're planning for life post Treloar.

Ostensibly with finals shot Cameron's role is to now sell hope for the future just as it is for 10 other clubs. Therefore whilst I'm not keen to get into the likelihood of him leaving or otherwise I just find it hard to believe that coaches and teammates would comment any other way publicly when you see what happens when people are honest ala Henderson...
Yep. Wouldn't expect him to say anything different. Bit like Bucks talking about Scharenberg.

Spot on. The only difference being that negotiations seem to have commenced between Scharanberg and Collingwood yet Cameron spoke about the desire for talks to begin. IMO, fans often look for the answer they want to hear more than anything else.

My reasons for wanting Treloar to stay a giant (as written 6 weeks ago):
- he's a ball magnet
- has an uncanny goal sense
- has developed a dangerous combination with Dylan Shiel
- is a fantastic clubman and has plenty of time for the fans
- is an important part of our midfield core

My reasons for wanting Treloar to stay a giant (as written today):
- so I can come back and take big steaming dump on this board

I am guessing GWS would prefer if AT selects the Blues especially if they take Kreuzer as FA.

What a whipping whirlwind for GWS if they pull of this coup.

- They offer Kreuzer $1mln - 5 yrs
- Carlton receives pick 3
- GWS offer AT to Carlton for pick 3 (nice play)
- Carlton really grumpy at this play and ask for pick 9 in return or no deal
- GWS think about it for abit and ask for abit more.
- Carlton gives the bird.
- GWS accepts Treloar + pick 9 for pick 3

GWS in - Kreuzer, pick 3
GWS out - AT, pick 9

Yes that's what Jake Niall reported in July, not entirely sure it is 100% correct. You will comfortably get Kennedy and Hopper from your academy.
In a weird way, pick 9 is probably more valuable to GWS than pick 3 because pick 9 will be used for Hopper/Kennedy whereas pick 3 can't be used unless Brisbane and Carlton bid on them (which leads to GWS needing to pay more points, or don't match and take Schache/Weitering).

Probably right, depends if the Academy Kids receives bids for them (which they will more likely than not likely). Unlikely pick 9 will be enough for both and if they want both more likely than not will be in big deficit for 2016. Not sure how this can work for GWS.

Well I believe he is. He's a ruckmen and if you look at what they get traded for it's not out of the realms. If Witts is traded bigfooty will go into meltdown because we will get more than a lot of people think he's worth.
Go home...you're drunk.
Drafted at No.67
Played only 11 games this year, only 38 in his 3 years. Not even in Collingwood's best 22, a side who aren't even sniffing the top 8, a side who has struggled in the ruck, he's a ruckman.
Averaged just 10 disposals, and only 22 hit outs, just marginally better than his career averages of 9 and 18, ie: he's shown little improvement.
At best, Witts has shown the occasional flash of adequacy.

But he is going to return a 1st AND a 2nd round pick via trade??? No scenario where you get a 1st.
I can't roll my eyes enough to express just how delusional this is.:rolleyes:
Try to remove the black and white tinted glasses for just a moment.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Maybe Adelaide will trade you Dangerfield for Seedsman, Thomas and Keefe?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

That what everyones reported. Its the one thing thats remained constant in this no matter the reporter.
The rumour on Kreuzer is interesting on list management point of view not that I agree with it. But if true makes sense to force a pick 3 then try and get it back for academy picks. In relation to cap space not sure this is 100% correct because you won't have any room to resign players coming out of contract next season if reporting is correct. Just doesn't add up.
