yep let him develop in shield. took 4/ on debut. he's got a lot to like about him.
him and james muirhead are probably the two most likely leg spinners we have. cameron boyce has talent but just hasn't come on. CB's biggest problem is one he'll never be able to overcome. He is simply too small. Sounds like a strange thing to say about a leg spinner but you need to be a bit stronger and bigger than most people would think to be a good spinner. It doesn't make it impossible, but it doesn't help. think of most modern day leg spinners, they're either tall or heavy set (warne, macgill, kumble, afridi, mushtaq ahmed etc,.)...
adam zampa is not the biggest kid in the world but may have grown a bit.
there's another guy floating around new south wales nathan brain who looked pretty good and played some futures leagues and second xi games in 10/11 but he seems to have stalled big time and was even playing second grade not long ago... hopefully he can get his shot together. he's about 3 months older than zampa but having seen the two of them side by side a couple of years back i thought NB was better technically during delivery, but at the end of the day you've still gotta be able to land the ball and turn it and i haven't seen him for about 18 months to comment enough there but his 12/13 grade figures (and back half of 11/12) aren't encouraging at all...
